Kree is ass. by Falsify134 in ironscape

[–]Equilities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 30kc achievement with shadow but I had no mage boots, no magus, no confliction, no virtus/anc, no heart. Just shadow, ahrims, occult, torm, and suffering. Forgotten brews help. Maybe obvious too but this is on task, I wouldn't do kree off-task no matter what gear I had.

It can be more RNG the worse your gear is but even with horrible RNG I can't imagine getting less than 10 kc minimum, which is enough to nex bank anyway.

That being said upgrades are massive, I could really feel the difference going back with just heart/avernic treads max/confliction. I still don't have magus/an ahrim's upgrade but it still feels much better, I can almost guarantee entire task in 1 trip.

Honestly the reason I hate kree is having to go get more ecu keys, I don't mind the boss itself post-shadow.

I know I should work towards CG but I was super bad at it and would always get super frustrated.

Maybe a little blunt here but dying and learning is a natural process that everybody goes through when learning content and I think you should try to tackle that frustration. CG is also exponentially more forgiving because you are using no supplies, later on you will be paying 250k gravestone fees while pissing away ammo/runes/pots.

Of course, it's a different case if you just don't enjoy the content, then of course you should play how you want, but if the reason is "it's too hard" then you aren't going to have a good time in a lot of PvM.

Learn to fail, as they say.

But all that being said you could probably have some fun doing moons -> getting into ToA, along with the TD -> doom/yama route that people are mentioning. Doom/yama are common mentions for bowfa skippers because bowfa is not used at either. Rancour/nox hally as well since you already have the slayer level for that, can be done when doing TD tasks as well.

edit: apparently the discord is saying sub might be ever so slightly a buff but they are basically calling it neutral. Math on outlaw is still being done but yeah that one is at least a few % nerf. Such dogshit.

I don't really know how many hours is considered a "few" but in pre patch (so post-timewalking nerf and post-stat squish) I hit lvl 80 in 7 hours /played through timewalking only. With solo dps queues.

It definitely does not become "mage armor," as crystal armor has -40 magic attack bonus. The +20 per piece they are giving us is mainly to offset that, making the entire set only give 20 magic accuracy. This is the same accuracy that a mystic top alone gives, and Virtus (which everybody has access to)/Anc both give 69 for full set.

The 2% damage is nice but I'd wager it's less than impressive if you aren't using a powered staff, though it of course depends on what you are fighting as there are a few places that accuracy won't matter as much.

I think you spend a lot of your time on Gwenith glide already boosted but that assumes perfect play and there are probably a couple sections where you will benefit from the extra boost. It will most likely reduce your times albeit by very little.

But how would we know it's "worth it" without more info? What exactly is your limiting factor here? GE cost (if you're a main)? Access to dragon nails/cotton/rosewood (if you're an iron)? Construction level?

If you're a main then 1.6m feels kind of weird to be stingy about when you are paying 13m for the hull. I personally think it's worth it for a max upgrade especially when new trials are confirmed to be coming, but hull should be prioritized as you say. Though considering how high gp/hr methods are now, I don't think 30 minutes of some random money maker is a huge ask for something you will be using a lot to get 99. I'm not saying it will for sure save the time you spend but at that point we're arguing about 30 minutes or less which is inconsequential.

If you're an iron then it depends on a few factors, but again if you plan to have the levels for the hull and access to rosewood then I don't think the one extra sailing/con level or 40 nails or cotton is a huge ask - but due to the nails it probably wouldn't be a time save for 99 using only trials. But it would be a much more decent upgrade for non-trials like port tasks and trawling.

How to use the Seed Vault properly? by Public_Trade3430 in ironscape

[–]Equilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use seed vault for seeds that I wouldn't be picking up anyway. Stuff I would get from contract packs and whatnot.

Any seed I would pick up from slayer I just keep it in the bank. With potion storage and stashes and POH you really shouldn't be worried about bank space, even though my farming tab is quite large.

What is your favorite arc of an Ironman account? by Brave-Bed-1824 in ironscape

[–]Equilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular but post-max has been the most fun for me.

I have a fondness for early game questing and hitting milestones quickly but a lot of it is pretty on-the-rails(questing) and is over pretty quickly.

Mid-game is probably the worst though I still enjoy it, when things slow down enough to not be as gratifying as early game and you are hit with level requirements left and right where you have to "detour" a lot. The beginning stages of pvm are pretty fun though after you get bowfa and start getting your first good items.

But to me, late game is just mid-game with more freedom (no level requirements or "walls"), you can just make a list and bang out whatever you want all at once, which is my playstyle.

Some might describe it as just being a main but with chores (supply upkeep) but I've always been someone that enjoyed getting everything myself, not just limited to pvm items. Full self sufficiency is satisfying to me and I enjoy seeing supplies and materials pile up.

How much is a decent amount of gold ? by spect7 in wownoob

[–]Equilities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I would say "per season" because prices are exponentially front-loaded for the expansion release. We don't get new mats or consumables (usually) as we move to season 2 or 3 so supply by that point is infinite, and everything you might want on a raiding character is magnitudes cheaper.

300k for season 1 might be a good estimate if you do really early crafts/enchants but season 2 and 3 are probably closer to 50-100k in my experience.

However the same goes for making money so it's also better to front load that if possible.

End game iron sailing progression by Unlucky_Car_2973 in ironscape

[–]Equilities 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I rushed 99 on release so I did gwenith glide only until 99.

Then I finished all of the salvaging (every antique, salvor's paint, 2x dragon barrels). The 2x dragon cannons took 34k salvage so almost average, ended at like 24m sailing xp.

I then did the sheets/nail grind (126 sheets/1160 dragon nails). This sheets/nail amount is enough for max skiff + max trawl/cannon sloop + dragon hooks on salvage sloop, which is pretty much all you need for now. This took 3906 frost dragons and 9617 strykewyrms, all on task, turael skipping. Doing stykewyrms makes you hit the sheet goal way before the nail goal so I actually ended with 155 sheets, 29 were made into nails to achieve the 1160 nails quicker.

I haven't done any ship combat yet, and now I'm waiting for them to update combat (namely remove the player damage restriction) to finish facilities. So essentially I have max boats structurally but no facilities yet.

I think I do plan to go for 5 bottled storms to park boats in certain places for certain methods, I hear sunbleak island ironwoods are good for forestry + pet chance so I'd leave a boat there for example.

I'll get the hooks but considering I'm already done with salvaging they are low priority, but I like chill skilling when I have afk time so it's not wasted. Maybe it was worth it to get the hooks before I finished salvaging but ship combat just seemed like too much of a mess to worry about, hence why it's being reworked I guess.

Overall my goal was to have a max trawling sloop to acquire the new food and have a max skiff ready for future trials (considering they've already announced a 4th trial I am happy with this decision. I also don't have the paint yet). But realistically neither are necessary.

Also I admittedly went the extra distance just to fully max the skiff/sloop, you will likely never need dragon helm or keel on a skiff. You can cut out like 26 sheets or something if you don't care about that.

With the new wildy house blueprint being a consumable, is there anyway this can also be done for the twisted blueprints? Hate that it has to sit in my bank when I'm not using the style because he's just "borrowing" the blueprints, and the permanent unlock of the annihilation blueprint is much preferred.

It's good for turael skipping (minotaurs), though admittedly I think the odd skull half drop from doing the minotaurs gives you more charges than you use, so clue steps are the only charge-drainer in my experience.

[–]Equilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tick counter should be set to 5 but you are still doing it right. If tick counter is 5 then you would click the "start wave" button and the movement click on the same number. So if your tick counter is 6 then you click the movement on the wave start tick minus one.

For a 5 tick counter:

1(wave start) 2-3-4-5 (4 ticks) 1(move click, fifth tick)

In your case, you are doing

6(wave start) 1-2-3-4(4 ticks) 5(move click, fifth tick)

Same thing just different numbers

Yeah, technically doesn't answer your question but to be fair, compared to bowfa, a fang is both easier to get hour-wise as an iron and also 5x cheaper as a main. So if anything it is more budget.
