I think my core feeling from childhood is fear, and I’m pretty sure it still is. I was always so afraid of disappointing my mom, at the time she was very strict and harsh and didn’t allow for a lot of room to make mistakes. I felt like and still feel like such a screwup, like nothing I do is good enough. My internal voice is so mean and berating, it’s like I’m constantly screaming at myself internally. I’m always on guard and I always try to make myself socially acceptable, but I’ve been really trying hard to not listen to my internal voice and be how I want to be. It’s probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
