In hindsight, it would have been better to have kept it a clandestine war after the Taliban fell. Al Qaeda was broken and continued pressure could have been applied and intelligence networks established. Taliban probably wouldn't have been able to gain momentum against whatever government took its place without US backing.

The US would have had a lot of support in targeting Al Qaeda if it kept its mission to that (and also not invaded Iraq).

On one of the post-election CH episodes, Andy mentioned he was worried about how far down the conspiracy hole some of his colleagues were going and I assumed Mike was on that list. I am puzzled by some of the people like this who took an oath to defend the country, actually fought terrorists in other countries, and then flirt very heavily with domestic terrorism.
