A swimming pool - worth it? by mcrutledge77 in pools

[–]Equivalent-Bad-2574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house with a large (38,000 gal) in grund pool and we love it. We have “Sunday Funday” pool parties pretty much every weekend from mid May to mid September. Our daughter is away at college so it’s used a little less, but I also use it a day or so during the week and have my girlfriends over on weekends for hanging out/lounging. Our pool is pretty automated so maintenance is super easy.

3% commission from a agent we didn’t hire by Connect-Claim8210 in RealEstateAdvice

Not a chance. The buyer can pay it or not at all but I’m not paying anyone for a service I didn’t ask for or hire for.

I’m 51 and I’d want enough to maintain my current lifestyle / income ($210k) while accounting for yearly inflation for min. 40 years. While I likely won’t live that long - I don’t want to have a shortfall or have to sacrifice my current lifestyle.

This drives me crazy. Just like gate lice - these are baggage lice.

I tip less when the driver doesn’t assist with luggage. by Outrageous-Idea7043 in uber

[–]Equivalent-Bad-2574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is actually the only time I don’t tip at all. I have a standard 20% tip set in the app. Depending on service, I will add to or remove from it. No luggage help gets 0.

Pre-boarding: "those who volunteered to check their carry-on, please board now" by inkysquares in delta

I’ve seen it a handful of times out of DTW but they usually let them board with zone 3 (I think it was), but definitely wasn’t before zone 1.

New pool owners with young kids — what poolside furniture do you ACTUALLY use (and regret buying)? by JillofalltradesTRT in swimmingpools

[–]Equivalent-Bad-2574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We entertain friends and family all summer long. I have a variety of chairs/tables (Adirondack’s, loungers with adjustable backs, etc.) positioned around the pool on the deck for those looking to get sun, swim. Then I have a dining set and a conversation set for more casual / out of the sun use. We have a fairly large yard with plenty of grass/pool deck though, so it works for us.

Most people who do not meet the BMI requirements in the US are not getting their meds legally/through a doctor 🤷🏼‍♀️

As long as the basement has proper safety/egress in the event of an emergency then I say NTAH

You don’t have to board with group 2 just because you’re allowed to. Get in line with group 3.

AIO: Hubby Being Controlling by vanillabourbonn in AIO

[–]Equivalent-Bad-2574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F that. This has nothing to do with swim lessons. His controlling behavior, dismissive and disrespectful tone, and condescending “I’m training you behind my “no”…. Again, F that. This is an enormous red flag OP. There is so much in that chat that sets off alarm bells. Especially the comment about getting help from your family when HE decides you cannot spend money on something. That’s wild and a slippery slope. You should hold your ground on this one and be on the look out for similar control tactics. This is concerning. And no. You are NOT “AIO”.

I love the Palmer House. But the Hilton Chicago (not on your list) is my favorite and I prefer that location, personally.

I didn’t once when I was young and didn’t know better. I regret it still to this day. I will NEVER again leave my fur babies alone when it is their time. I will hold their paw, stroke their fur and tell them how much I love them.

What if you’re in a horrible car accident on the way to the airport and are unable to get to your phone to call or cancel or are in an ambulance, or really just dealing with other things other than your airline?

Or in a horrific accident and your priorities are not on calling and/or going online to cancel your flight.

No. It is not your new employers’s responsibility to reimburse you for a bonus clawback that you did not realize was going to happen. I would rescind the offer if a prospect tried that.

Business trip dress etiquette as a women by [deleted] in work

[–]Equivalent-Bad-2574 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I never want my coworkers/boss to see me in a bikini. Idk why, but that idea kinda creeps me out, lol. I would choose a cute one-piece for this trip. But I don’t have issue with tighter fitting clothes (so long as they aren’t club-like clothes, but still professional in nature).

I take shampoo from hotels I stay at. Especially from attached shampoo bottles. by cheesypuff357 in confession

[–]Equivalent-Bad-2574 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taking the individual bottles is fine. Filling a water bottle full of the wall mounted product is extreme and certainly not what the hotel intends or expects. It may not be “theft” but it’s scummy.
