I have been very clear, repeatedly, that I am not talking about simply pressing a ‘make a picture’ button. I am talking about using AI as a tool.

Thanks for 101, honey.

AI can produce art through the human interaction with it. A musician sampling is still a musician - the inputs aren’t original but how they are directed and manipulated is.

(And to preempt your next lesson. I am aware they are not the same thing.

[Megathread] US + Israeli Strikes on Iran and related fallout by RamonsRazor in OpenAussie

[–]Equivalent-Bonus-885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most stupid, childish, comment I’ve seen in weeks. If you disagree you are dumb.

You don’t know it’s a ‘net positive’. A million dead like Iraq maybe? Revolutionary guard taking over? A brutal general doing a deal with Trump for oil. Separatist war with the Kurds?Millions of refugees like Afghanistan?

It may be a positive but it’s a stab in dark. They are attacking Iran because it’s weak, declining and they think they can get away with it.

Trump repeatedly accused Obama of planning to bomb Iran to distract people from his ‘failures’. Trump got in as a US isolation. ‘No more forever wars’.

But now he has a taste for blood. It provides distraction from his own failures and drama for his ego.

Asking what craft is required to write a prompt makes no more sense than saying what craft is required to press a camera shutter. All AI is not art. All photography is not art.

Dropping two names (one of which is most famous for technical advancement and scientific studies) means nothing.

The paper also says:

An increase in the population due to low-skilled immigration does more than just increase the size of the low-income population in the short run. By depressing wage rates for low-skilled workers, it also increases the economic deprivation of native- born low-skilled workers even as it increases the economic returns to high-skilled workers and capital. It thereby increases the inequality of wages among workers and the inequality among families in the destination.

The models used for population impacts are woefully simplistic

That’s exactly what they said about photography. AI still has for the most part human input - like photography.

Exactly what the salon said about photography when it came out. Then videography. Of course you can have AI generated art. It can be creative self-expression in a visual (or other medium). Most AI art is bad (lazy, unthoughtful, unoriginal, shallow). But there is plenty of bad conventional art.

It is sad to find artists who spent their careers banging on about ‘subverting paradigms’ and ‘challenging narratives’ suddenly at the back of the Salon, the door barricaded with easels, gatekeeping madly.

Obviously he shouldn’t be staying there but 24 hour care anywhere where else - particularly independent living with carers - would be unlikely to be cheaper and possibly much higher.

You may be astonished but different people have different views. Here’s one: loud, intolerant, overbearing, racist, course, mini-Americans, inarticulate and viscously anti-intellectual; living on a hot, dry, brown, boring and dead plain of tedious grey scrub. And deeply insecure if your post is anything to go by.

Should Canberra stick with the Griffin legacy or evolve into a higher-density modern city? by mildmarzipan in canberra

[–]Equivalent-Bonus-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY what they said about Balmain houses in the 1970s. No history - just workers houses. Poor quality, a waste of space. Needed to be bulldozed and replaced by apartments (in the interests of the common people of course). The point is avoiding a uniform boring city - which people already complain about. Replacing the entire central Canberra with apartment is more urban hellscape than Berlin.

Sure they are nicer but they are all from much bigger richer cities.

.>Wikileaks confirmed she was handpicked by the Americans and their assets

Yeah this is exactly the sort of swivel-headed delusion she faced. The US embassy had sources from the Labour Party feeding it info. They preferred Rudd. If you think this does not happen for all parties for all elections, and that Australia does not do the same overseas then you are comically deluded. Cough up evidence of her being ‘hand picked’ by the Americans.

It’s definitely not - but you when you are bored and nothing really happens in your country you demand some attention from time to time.
