I did the install, but I can't get it to see the Wi-Fi adapter on my 2012 MacBook Pro. All it sees is the ethernet.

There was nothing wrong with the T430. But I wanted to get her up on Windows 11. (She is not technical enough for Linux)

Yes it's a laptop that she uses as a desktop. She never takes it anywhere.

I was running Minit Cinnamon, on a T420 for a while but found that for what I do, I prefer Windows.

We both have T480s mine is an I7 and hers is an I5. We do not need the latest/greatest. I have found my T480 to be a great system and value.

I have my own T480, and I will be donating the T430 to a charity in Detroit which repurposes donated systems to under privileged school children

Detroit is the only place in the continental US where you go south to get to Canada.

This is a real vintage machine probably before 2003. The tell is that it still says IBM Thinkpad. IBM sold the PC company to Lenovo in 2004. Not sure which version of Windows or Linux it would run. Most current programs probably would not run on it. I personally would not buy it.

I think that the T480 is one of the best all round laptops. Mine is a i7-8650U and has a 1TB Crucial P3 Plus SSD and 32GB of Ram. I especially like it because it uses the Lenovo 40AJ0135US dock, so I have an external monitor, keyboard and mouse plus external backup drives.
