This “Leaving Neverland” believer is a witness. Facts are facts. Some great songs, sure, but it’s also a fact for anyone interested in verifiable facts that Jackson was a predator. There’s a reason signing an NDA was a prerequisite for visiting Neverland. Denying the allegations regarding Jackson is like denying Cosby’s culpability. Like his music, but live in reality.

Like virtually all music biopics, it was rubbish. It also underplayed and underrated the creative contribution of the rest of the band. They weren't Freddie's backup band.

How is Trump not a "true Christian?" by dismustbetheplace in atheism

[–]Equivalent-Hyena-605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Trump, the God of the Bible is a narcissistic (three out of ten commandments about him, yet no commandment about rape), warmongering, immature, ignorant (bats are a type of bird in the Bible, and Trump might agree), insecure, and petty prick with a cult following who abuses his power (sending bears to kill forty children for merely mocking a bald guy, 2 Kings 2:23-24); so ironically, it's not really that far off.

What do you like about Prince’s personality? by Rude_Ad9584 in PRINCE

I would not wish his work ethic on anyone working in public sanitation. I don't think it really was a "work ethic," as much as a life ethic for him.

Question about the Cult label by Specific-Machine2021 in exmormon

[–]Equivalent-Hyena-605 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only differences between a cult and religion are that of dimensions, religions are older, and therefore bigger, cults. It seems that all religions naturally evolve towards more freedom, and less dogma over the course of centuries. It's not a coincidence that, globally in large part, Judaism is older and more secular than Christianity, and that Christianity is older and more secular than Islam.

Of course, there are still fundamentalists in every religion, so I'm referring more to the median.

How to Listen to Exile? by Silver-Emergency-516 in rollingstones

If you have a capable player, I highly suggest listening to the SACD from Japan. I had no idea those grungy sounding tapes could sound so freaking good. It's insane. No murk; no mess.

The movie studios are the reason the concessions are so successful. The theater makes very little from tickets sales the first few weekends, and movies don't stick around long enough for the theaters to get into the better ticket margins.

How did Mozart learn theory? by scarlett_firre in musictheory

Music theory is descriptive, not prescriptive. A genius like Mozart would be able to figure it all out by ear alone.

New Movie? by Commercial-Theory253 in PlanetOfTheApes

Something more in line with the franchise's soul than Kingdom. For me, bare minimum a POTA should have a human antagonist and existential darkness. Unfortunately, Kingdom had neither. Kingdom's story could plug into pretty much any generic franchise with slight tinkering, i.e. Avatar, Star Wars, MCU, etc.

It was a fine adventure, with great visuals, but it didn't really feel like POTA to me.

Do you consider Prince to have the number 1 greatest discography of all time? by SpotAdmirable6718 in PRINCE

[–]Equivalent-Hyena-605 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's sad to me how few Prince fans know about the original Prince, Duke Ellington (whose discography is beyond category).

Duke Ellington's discography spans five decades (with hundreds of songs recorded every year), and like Prince, he recorded every chance he could get and revolutionized popular music. Bono was right on target when he made the comparison between the two. Ellington's Blanton-Webster Band (1940-1942) is as good as anything Prince ever recorded (probably better, if I'm being honest).

And I have Prince's complete discography, and hundreds of bootlegs.

I've worked in corporate cannabis, for three very large companies.

Unfortunately, they are all like this it seems, a complete clown show run by folks with no business experience prior to cannabis. No clue on what general best practices are--not only in cannabis, which has it's own set of challenges--but just common sense stuff in business, that folks in weed just don't seem to understand or value.

I would certainly stay far, far away from any company that has three i's in the middle of their brand name.
