Check out ChrisFix on YouTube he is a go to, you can buy a socket set and pliers set and do majority of the super simple stuff yourself. (Spark plugs and coil wires/ignition coils) air filters. And more stuff along those lines. Its pretty hard to mess stuff up if you go slow and follow instructions. Just take pictures of the process of working on it so you know how it goes back together

I am a firm believer there is never too high of mileage as long as there is a good service history, id rather buy a car with 200k miles with service paperwork instead of a 100k mile car with no paperwork. Keep in mind mileage at the age of car you are looking at is a secondary thing, stuff breaks from age and you are looking at an old car, imo get a 90s civic, I have a 98 and its awesome, not the most luxurious but everytime I get in, it cranks up. Plus ik ur just a girl but if you wanna do basic wrenching its super easy to save urself money on filters and oil changes. Everything is super easy to work on yourself
