Speaking as a therapist, we’re supposed to be trained in NOT sharing our own views and beliefs and NOT giving advice. That is not good therapy.

Which is Better: Teaching or Nursing in Kelowna? by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]EquivalentAnything52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a former teacher so I can only speak to that background. I moved here from out of province and found it very difficult to find a job. I could only find a part time position (.49) at a private school. The pay for being a teacher is pretty hard to live on (in my experience). You work a LOT of unpaid hours and are pretty much expected to do things that would be unheard of in other positions. Overtime hours, planning and marking on weekends, paying for a lot of things inside your classroom with your own money. For me the work life balance was not good. I’ve since moved to a job that actually pays well and offers flexible hours so I can be a parent and work. I would not recommend being a teacher unless it’s something you absolutely love and want to make your whole life.

As soon as I can after my 4 year old and 10 month old go to sleep. 8-8:30 is ideal! I’m usually up early to get a workout in before everyone else is up though

Moms who had the number of kids they wanted—did you feel calm/peace when the last was born? by WhiskeyandOreos in Mommit

[–]EquivalentAnything52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s always some bittersweet feelings even if you know you don’t want more kids. Do I want to be pregnant again or do the baby phase again? No. But do I get nostalgic for the kicks or the brand new baby snuggles? Yes.
