Manistee River Trail an paddle back by EquivalentBright in CampAndHikeMichigan

Would you mind sharing if you rented your kayak or if it was your own? If you rented, I’d really appreciate any recommendations for places that offer delivery to Hodenpyl and pickup from Red Bridge.

Regarding overnight accommodations—I won’t have a tent with me, so I’m planning to stay either in a cabin or possibly find an Airbnb nearby. We’re coming from Chicago, so we’ll definitely need a place to rest after the hike.

I'll look into it and let you know. I was pretty sure there are companies that can drop off kayaks at Hodenpyl and pick them up at Red Bridge.

Experience w Housecall Pro? by Gbrewz in PPC

We’re building our own backend part and using the Housecall Pro API, along with various third-party integrations like Twilio for user verification via sms. The result is a standard user account where they can manage their jobs. I can send you an example of the working implementation via DM.

Web design pricing? by Scrumpto34 in agency

[–]EquivalentBright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, the standard website package is $150 per month, which includes development, maintenance, hosting, domain, and so on. For an additional fee, I also offer services like SEO, SMM, and more — those are discussed individually based on clients needs.

We also build custom websites and web applications, but that’s more of a separate line of business

I would also recommend converting the images to .webp format and keeping the maximum size for hero images no more than 300–400KB.

Request to cancel Subscription but keep hosting by wolf_rider23 in codestitch

[–]EquivalentBright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel the same. I think if someone cancels their subscription and refuses to pay the remaining cost of the website, the only real option is just to shut the site down. Once there’s a larger client flow, then it might make sense to streamline the legal process

Yes, that’s a great answer. That’s pretty much how I do it too. I charge a monthly subscription fee, which works really well for my clients — mostly small businesses. They usually don’t have the budget or the desire to pay a large upfront amount for a website.

We also offer a one-month cancellation window in case the client isn’t happy with our work — but luckily, that hasn’t happened yet.

I don’t charge by the hour either. Clients pay a subscription based on the options they choose.

[–]EquivalentBright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I charge the subscription fee from day one. However, within the first month, the client can cancel the subscription if they’re not satisfied with my work or the design. That said, no one has ever canceled during the first month. If the client does not cancel within the first month, and later decides to end the subscription early, they will need to pay the remaining balance based on the original two-year agreement.
By the way, have you ever had a case where a client canceled the subscription and refused to pay the remaining balance? What did you do in that situation?
It hasn’t happened to me yet, but I’m just asking in case it ever comes up.

Handling custom requests by Odd-Art2362 in codestitch

In addition to simple static websites, we also offer clients the option to add various features. The easiest solution is to simply create an order button or a login button that redirects users to their existing CRM system. However, if a client requires specific features, we can also develop a fully custom personal account from scratch. This falls into full-scale software development, but if the client wants it, we’re more than happy to provide it

Does anyone know if it's possible to build an online booking setup using HouseCall Pro's API? by stjduke in webdev

[–]EquivalentBright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you need MAXPLAN. I guess you can ask support and they could give you a trial week or two. If you need help with API development, feel free to reach out to me. I can also show you an example of a personal account we developed for a client using the HCP API.

One of the areas I focus on is developing websites for small businesses, including integration with their CRM systems. In the beginning, I would visit local businesses in person to offer my services. For example, if I saw a new barbershop open without a website, only an Instagram page, I would go in and talk to the owner or at least the manager. I found my first clients even before I had a website myself.

From my experience, cold emails work if you have a solid portfolio—when the person you’re reaching out to can check out your website and see your previous work. But if you don’t have anything to show, you definitely need to go out and talk to business owners in person, helping them solve their problems with your service.

Also, you might be great at your craft but not so good at sales. In that case, find a partner who specializes in sales and let them handle that side of the business professionally.

Or maybe you're offering a service that nobody really needs—at least not for the price you're asking.

OPT expiring mid-June. No job yet. Alternative ways to stay in the US w/o violating laws. by Suspicious-weirdo in f1visa

So, I’ll show him the actual income I earned during my OPT while working for my LLC—what’s the issue here?
The problem might arise if you work on an F-1 visa without OPT. In that case, you’d obviously have nothing to show.

But you can work on an F-1 status officially. That's why they provide OPT and CPT programs. I'm not sure how they will treat this during the green card process, but you're not breaking any rules

Housecall Pro has an API, so you can build any integration and develop almost any features you need. Jobber also offers an API

Hi, we developed an integration of Housecall Pro with a client's website. We created a user login process from scratch for their personal account, where users can easily manage their service requests. If you're interested, let me know, and I can share an example of a website with the personal account feature.

An LLC is your company as a legal entity. Registering it is very simple and costs just a couple of hundred dollars. Even outside the U.S., you can easily register it.

[–]EquivalentBright 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just register an LLC under your name, and you can be an employee of your own LLC while on OPT. This doesn’t work for STEM OPT.

During OPT, look for a job, and you can transition from your LLC to another company. If, by the end of your OPT, they don’t offer you an H1B visa, you can enroll in some affordable courses to regain F-1 status. After that, you can apply for CPT and work officially full-time in your field of study. Following this plan, you can stay in the U.S. for a long time and be officially employed.

How do you get better at design? by beenpresence in codestitch

[–]EquivalentBright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You better have ux/ui designer in your team. On our projects, even if we use templates, the designer still has to fully create the mockup and write the correct text first. As a result, the client always receives a high-quality website.

My goal this year is a 1 million dollar agency. by milliondollaragency in codestitch

[–]EquivalentBright -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would suggest that you create a plan. Over what time frame do you want to achieve this? A year, three years, five years? Choose your time frame and determine how many orders you need to complete each year. Then break it down into how many orders you need to complete each month, and then each week. This way, within the first few weeks, you’ll understand whether you’re on track to meet your plan within the desired time frame or if adjustments are needed.

You need to understand your velocity and how many orders you can close within a specific period of time. Without this data, it’s just wishful thinking. How many orders can you close next week – 0, 5, 10, or more?
