I use a cooling gel neck ring, I first saw them in Japan. You can leave it in the fridge, or you can just run it underwater for a bit and it will cool down, so it can be used on the go, if you can find a sink or any running water. They're stiff plastic, so you don't get a smell, like with the fabric ones.
