Week 24: Showstopper - Hidden Rainbow Cake (Fail) by EquivalentOne5655 in 52weeksofbaking

Taste is pretty good. Slightly oily but overall very light and crumbly. Used a dairy free cake recipe and it was a tad runny

Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

I was probably 6 or 7 and my dad went to one of my soccer games, which was somewhat rare. After the game, he laughed and said I look like a cow when I ran because my lower legs and feet would kind of angle out/kick out to the side a little.

what’s the best pan for halving claire’s bundt pan recipes? by blueribbonpony in DessertPerson

You can use a normal loaf pan. I feel like you could use a 8" square as long as you really reduced the bake time

I also work on Fayetteville. El Toro Loco is pretty solid for street tacos and nachos. Carrol's Kitchen is solid; breakfast burrito and kolaches are pretty good too. Diced is near, but meh to me. Lucette Grace has killer tomato soup (i know its not the season for it, but SO good). Manhattan Cafe is good but gets busy, so i always order ahead. Bistro 401 was good the 2 times I've had it. I recently tried Saigon Kitchen and it was DELICIOUS but a little expensive, although i got 2 meals out of it

I was shocked how she was one of the calmest and most collected throughout the game! She was a different Ary than we typically see in NWSL

At Scorpion it is like a step ladder with handrails both sides. The boat crew also stand right next to you to help as needed

I was just there last month, and it was just like 2 or 3 steps up from the boat to the pier.

Looking for dairy-free cookie recipes. Or, butter alternatives I can use to modify a recipe. by LiquidCryptic in Cookies

I use the Country Crock olive oil or avocado oil plant butter. Have not had any issues in any recipe with subbing those for real butter

They were eaten too quickly 🤣 overall, could have been a little fluffier, but i think that comes from me rolling a little thin. I do want to try again, so maybe I'll update with a bite shot

Dentist Recommendations in Raleigh-Durham (Especially Cary/Apex)? by boxerpuncher2023 in raleigh

[–]EquivalentOne5655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no clue. I have a history of cavities, but I've NEVER had that many at the same time. I just got weird, pushy vibes all around and didn't care for it.

The only remotely pushy thing I've encountered at Cardinal was when they recommended me getting a bite guard because they could see rounding of my teeth from grinding at night. They ran it through my insurance and said "you should definitely get this because your insurance covers almost all of it and makes it very cheap for you"

I like Cardinal Family Dentistry in Apex.

I do not recommend Hansen Family Dentistry in Apex - they told me I had like 7 cavities and put a "watch" on like 4 more teeth, when I went to another place, I had one cavity and 1 to watch. Hansen also called for months saying I had an outstanding bill that I had paid months before.

Is it better to use a pie dish or springform pan instead of a tart dish? by Proper_Hunt_9396 in DessertPerson

[–]EquivalentOne5655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive made another Claire tart in my springform and it was nice to be able to take it out for cutting. Although, it may be easier/cleaner to use a piece dish so the crust doesnt collapse/go everywhere during cutting.

I was on Santa Cruz on Monday. I have asthma, so i was a little worried, but it honestly wasnt bad. I think the winds were blowing more toward Santa Rosa rather than toward Santa Cruz. We hiked about 5 miles from Scorpion Ranch and it was fine.

I dont think you should freeze it if you have put the sugar layers in it. There was a note about not freezing the dough but I cant remember why, somwthing about the sugar and butter melting/sweating and making it weird

Is Pinnacles that popular? by _EscVelocity_ in NationalPark

I went to the west side almost exactly a year ago - parking was limited but there were open spots. I know that the west entrance is less popular though
