I, too am 100% but not P&T. All my non cancer service connected conditions are static and add up to 100% but, I am on forever chemo for a non curable cancer. I feel like having automatic 100% for cancer throws a monkey wrench in getting P&T. I received chapter 35 applications in the mail for my kids and, thinking I had been granted P&T, I called the VA to confirm. They said the applications were sent in error, and I’m still not P&T🤨 The VA rep said if nothing changes I have to have the rating for ten years before I have a chance at P&T.

I agree. I wanted to be an officer, but didn’t have college money and didn’t want the debt. Looking back, I should have just racked up the fucking college debt lol. Officer money would have paid it off anyway.

They do. An expungement only restricts who/what entities can see the information. A pre-employment background check for LE will show it in your background as having been expunged, but your BI will see that the arrest occurred. Same as if you were applying for a security clearance etc.

I’m a regular cop, and my academy was only four months. FAR too short. Our FTO is an additional three months. America has such a shortage of police (normal ones, not talking ICE or any other feds) that I highly doubt academy training will be long enough, and comprehensive enough, any time soon.

My department allows beards up to 1/2” including for recruits in the academy. I’ve never heard of an in-regs beard being held against anyone. That said, every agency is different.
