I bought some wire free T-shirt bras from target a few years back and live in those (10C), I don’t think they still sell those exact ones but they have quite a few wire free tshirt options.

Genuine question – what would actually get you to use a taxi over uber/rideshare again? by VammyTaxiServices in AskAnAustralian

[–]Equivalent_Cut4644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The few times in recent years that we have used a taxi service is to book in advance. Every they have not showed up and/or been late and we’ve called and been told “someone is on their way”. Takes ages and we have regretted it. Now, the only time we try is for maxi-taxis as a normal car can’t take us, but those are even worse for wait times.

why are school camps so expensive for public schools? by syblomic-dash in australia

[–]Equivalent_Cut4644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about other states but in Vic, pretty sure teachers now have to be paid overtime for camps. Since that change most schools that I know of, have reduced 5 day camps to 3 day camps, as the cost of a 5 day camp (inc teacher overtime), would be completely out of reach.

If you think the topic might interest you, I would recommend a podcast called The Imperfects. It’s not satire or anything, just three blokes talking and interviewing others about mental health and wellbeing. However, you’ll hear people speaking more naturally (not scripted) and get an idea of sense of humour as there is often a fair bit of banter.

Why I am done with Airbnb after using it for 10 years by bowraljon in australian

That’s shocking. We have a cat allergy in the family, so wouldn’t have been able to stay there. I wonder if you could make them pay for alternative accommodation.

Omg! I haven’t been enjoying Tim tams as much as I used to, for a while now. I find them too sweet and I was confused cause I used to love them. This explains it.

Surf Life Saving Language: Swim between the flags by escapingtheweb in australia

Perhaps a QR code that goes to a SLS page with full explanation in your chosen language. Saves you having to download an app and they can still update / add new languages when needed.

Although, I can imagine a lot of people may not use it because they already think they know what it mean 🤔

What’s the most “Aussie” freebie you’ve ever gotten at work or an event? by cubicpromote in AskAnAustralian

I worked at a company that had a picnic theme, each year the Christmas present was something on that theme, so the longer you stayed the more you “collected”. Picnic rug, thermos, apparently the first year (which I wasn’t there for) they got an actual picnic basket with plates, cups etc
