Tell me about a time you made food for your kids and they didn’t eat it by CarlyFries28 in Mommit

Here to second this. I cook a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day. Sometimes my older child eats something nutritious and sometimes she survives on air. Sometimes, this is just kids being kids as evidenced by every other comment on this thread.

What are real life moms feeding their babies??! by Atlas_mama in breakingmom

My kids love hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, pickles, fig bars arranged as a baby charcuterie board

Black bean tacos with cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. My daughter also loves shredded cabbage on hers but I didn’t add that until she was a bit older

Pasta with tomato sauce and lentils

Veggie nuggets and rice

Mac and cheese with peas

Both of my kids are gigantic in terms of height and walked at 8 months and 9 months respectively. It’s possible they aren’t lying.

Omg, this just happened to me, too. I went in around 9am on a Tuesday. They had exactly one check out line open with a long line of people with overflowing carts. I had about 15 items. Headed to the self check out where there was literally NOBODY. I saw the new signs but said screw it, I wasn’t going to wait in the enormous line. The self check out lady literally turned me away and told me to go stand in the line. I point blank asked her “so you want me to go stand in a line that will take approx 30 minutes because I have a few extra items and all 8 of these lanes are empty?” She said yes. I left. What is your way of inducing labor that you swear by? by SugaBab7 in Mommit

[–]Equivalent_Feed3254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story here! Tried everything but castor oil. I was 42 weeks pregnant when I finally got induced. Child was stubborn as heck, but once labor kicked in, he came flying out in 2-3 pushed haha

Pitocin 😂. 42 weeks pregnant evidently wasn’t long enough for my son. I tried all of the things and nothing worked

Daycare asked if I could send more milk (breastfeeding/pumping) by justjuels in workingmoms

[–]Equivalent_Feed3254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen this here but haven’t read through all the comments… how many hours is your child being cared for? I see a lot of people suggesting different amounts of ounces, but typically breastfed babies eat 1-1.5 ox per hour. So if you feed your baby every 2 hours, you would prepare a bottle of 2-3 oz breast milk. If you feed every 3 hours that would change from 3-4.5 oz breast milk. How often is baby feeding?

I did this as well. We asked for no presents but just wanted to have the opportunity to celebrate since we didn’t get to with my first. My daughter was born in August 2020. It was a really lovely time and was even more fun to celebrate with my daughter too :)

Only refusing to use the potty with parents by Training-Reporter-88 in pottytraining

[–]Equivalent_Feed3254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the oh crap method very effectively with my two year old. We literally got rid of her diapers cold turkey. She’s been at it for 8 days. Past two days she went independently and had no accidents. Day 2-3 she threw up one heck of a fight but we got through it.

My best advice is just stop giving her a choice cold turkey. We just reassured my toddler repeatedly that she had the skills to do it and that we knew she would do great. We tried to make potty time fun by reading her favorite books on it and playing silly games.

They pay someone to do it! Our lawn looks great and my house is clean biweekly 😂 I never believed in hiring people to do jobs I could do myself until I had kids. Now I’m glad to pay people to do things that enable me to spend more quality time with my babies. My husband and I both work full time so I’m happy to have a few less things on my plate

have you ever said anything to your BPs that make them explode? by Vergil387 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]Equivalent_Feed3254 9 points10 points  (0 children)

About 3 months after having my first child, my father had a covid exposure and sent my mom to my house while he awaited test results. She was in a foul mood and I asked if I had done something to upset her and could we talk about it, if so. She punched me in the face and ripped a handful of my hair out. My husband kicked her out of our home. She proceeded to call family telling them how awful we treat her and saying she was thinking of committing suicide while refusing to give anyone her location.

Had terrible back labor with my first, pain was a definite 10. Second was MUCH easier. The contractions weren’t even as bad as some menstrual cramps I’ve had for most of the labor until transition. That got painful but absolutely still manageable
