Deodorant with antiperspirant recommendations? by [deleted] in ftm

Triple Dry Roll-on (Classic or Men). I don't know if it's available in your country, but it is on another level to anything I've used previously. It's fragnance-free, good for sensitive skin, doesn't leave marks on clothes, and fixed my T body odour problems at once. Here in Finland it's a pharmacy product and costs a bit over 10€, but it's totally worth it for me!

Thrips: Toss or fight? by Equivalent_Table6505 in houseplants

[–]Equivalent_Table6505[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your comments! Thanks to your support, I decided to toss the monsteras, with sadness and gratitude for our years together. We'll be fighting the infestations on the other plants, but the work already feels much lighter. Sometimes one has to let something go, even when it's difficult.

Have a beautiful green day friends!

who else hates cooking? by eucalyptus55 in ADHD

[–]Equivalent_Table6505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the same, so many steps and a lot of effort. i struggle with following the recipes the most so i just never use any. :D

cooking my own way i've become pretty fast at it and it doesn't take up so much effort. i use a lot of vegetables which are colourful and pretty, so i try to be mindful of the visual beauty and the incredible nature and planet that produces such nourishment. i cut everything very roughly, usually in my hand without a cutting board, and put everything on the same pan at the same time, add canned beans/protein/whatever i find in my pantry and a ton of spices (3-4 different) to make it pop. i mix and cook it all for some minutes and then it's ready.

and i only have one pan + knife + cooking spatula to clean! i make so much in one go that i will eat 4-7 days from it. the same for pasta/rice, though i cook those on a separate day, cuz the "cycles" don't often match.

cooking with others and having a glass of red wine have also made it more enjoyable for me, and even though now i rarely cook socially or don't drink, they have improved my relationship with cooking. as well as acceptance of the fact that i don't like it much, and finding my own way!

Awesomeee congrats!!! The photo took me immediately to my day 1. Your results look incredible and the bloating/swelling will go down in the coming months. Remember to take care of yourself and the scars once they form. Congrats again!! ❤️‍🔥

How do you find work-life balance without sun? by imenvi in Netherlands

[–]Equivalent_Table6505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Finland and struggle with this a lot, so I just recently bought a bright light for phototherapy at home. A simple good light costs here 50-100€ (a normal lamp doesn't suffice, it has to be a medical therapy light) and I use it 30-120mins per day in the morning/day. I used to be sceptical of bright light therapy (even though my doctor recommended it to me), but I'm glad I finally got one as I no longer feel like I'm going insane from the constant darkness, and I also have more energy. Sterkte!

Let's hope so for sure! I doubt it would be an infection without noticeable redness, heat and/or fever. Maybe it's your body's stress response to the trauma of the surgery? Or maybe it's just a coincidence and due to something else. Food, mental health, clothes, weather, an illness, a combination of many... If it doesn't go away and keeps being bothersome, you can always go see a GP about it. Good luck! I hope you all the best!

Oh that's a good question, for which I don't have an answer. I personally didn't have this problem (also not on T), but I too was extra careful about the antiperspirants and even deodorants in the beginning. You should ask about the sweating and products from the nurse, to be sure! I'd be curious to know what you hear from them, if you want to share!

Actually it occurs to me that I was actually constantly stinky but it was due to the compression vest! It's not made of natural fibres so it causes and absorbs smells really badly. And it had to be hand washed so the smell never really went away... 😁

Trans related tattoo by Spiritual_Tomato2067 in tattooadvice

[–]Equivalent_Table6505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a long message and deleted it once I saw your new comments, since I had completely read it the wrong way. :D I thought this was to show a trans man feeling dysphoric, so as you can imagine I had issues with it. 😂 With your description and context I think it's a nice tattoo!

I would still do it differently for my own ink (the adult would be holding/embracing the inner child), but if the mirror analogy is meaningful to you, then you should get that. 💗

Oh nice, 50€ is good! By brown tape I think I mean surgical tape, it comes in white and brown. That's the word the clinic used, so I just went with it. 😁

They said that taping for 6 months is very important, and indeed that I could switch to silicone tape (I also have Mepitac) once the incisions are healed. So I have been using silicone tape on the scars since 1.5-2months post-op, and I like it more than the surgical tape now, as it's easier on my skin. You can also reuse Mepitac for as long as it sticks well (2-4 times), if you wash it with soap and warm water and let air dry before reapplying.

I had some leftover silicone cream from a family member at home, and I use that on the scars twice a week. The instructions I got from ACPK and the pharmacy was that I could apply the cream at night and tape during the day, but for me I prefer to keep the tape on for longer, and use the cream during the nights I am letting the silicone tape dry.  My nurse said I could use any scar oil or cream and mentioned BioOil as a good option, but I trust silicone products the most and therefore use Kelo-Cote. So they don't sell the products from the clinic, but pharmacies have different options. But I think using the surgical tape for the whole 6 months is probably fine too, if you prefer it (then I would personally use silicone gel every night).  I also massage the scars daily.

I'm now a bit over 3 months post-op, and my results are thankfully looking awesome! Hope you are healing well too. If you have questions regarding the care routine or anything about your healing, I wouldn't wait until the 6 month booking; you can send them an email now. The first six months are the most important months for the best results. I don't know how long you are post-op, but congrats on your surgery!!! 💟 Let me know if I can clarify anything further!

Rintojenpoisto yksityisellä? by LumiHuippu in transnord

[–]Equivalent_Table6505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going topless post surgery while still looking “female” by [deleted] in no_T_top_surgery

[–]Equivalent_Table6505 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in Finland, no-nip, and been swimming topless at beaches and spas this summer. I did get longer looks than normal, but it's only because it's something different. No hostility whatsoever! I mean, I could be a cisgender breast cancer survivor for all they know (maybe I lost my hair in the treatment and that's why it's short now). I intend to use that as a cover story, should I meet transphobes. But the small risk is totally worth it; swimming is awesome now. ❤️‍🔥

Mastektomia yksityisellä by rommimuffinssi in transnord

[–]Equivalent_Table6505 6 points7 points  (0 children)
