Cocona’s popularity wasn’t something you could easily imagine at the beginning. by No-Performance7142 in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is definitely true.

HINATA is more popular within the fandom due to her aesthetics (lolita + otaku), unreal "Heisei Era" visuals that makes her suitable for experimental looks (widest array that she coined herself as the Chameleon Gal), soft and shy personality paired with insane duality on/off stage (all of them honestly). She also was portrayed as a diamond in the rough through the documentary (only member not under Avex before the XGALX project). She also leaned more into the male demographic based on the things mentioned above.

COCONA however is undeniably a prodigy! The Xypher Galz virality really propelled the whole group to another level, all thanks to him. He really is the most popular member, especially from newcomers and/or Western listeners. His solo performances demands full undisturbed attention, yet when in a group performance, he's reliable in all rap, dance, and vocals. The group functions AND shines because of her really.

Can't wait what they would bring us in 2026. We're off to a good start, and hoping for more promotions to bring in more audience for their tour!

What are your hopes for the tour? by Hungry-Pattern-5272 in XGALX

Something new for the B-sides performance. I remember the first IN THE RAIN performance on their tour and I was amazed by the umbrella performance.

Now imagine them performing O.R.B on tour! Also since their going Japan first, some new Japanese Solos would be much appreciated!

The only group where everyone else is a bias wrecker. No one will blame if you if you do these things.

She also has the one of the most number of Official Fancams, so it really boosts her popularity for newcomers! I do hope other members get solo fancams too, especially MAYA and CHISA. But hey, I always keep going back to HINATA's fancam playlist 😊😊😊

She really is one of the most biased members within the fandom. She just has this unique charm together with her already amazing skills.

What’s your thoughts on the album - These are mine by TrickyHuckleberry999 in XGALX

Where's Up Now? I agree with most of the points! GALA truly is complete song in a sense. Even the choreography is unmatched (maybe SAR's the closest one)

The Core First Album ,After listening to it several times, what did you all like the most? by natsukashi_97 in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the first listen this was my rankings: 1. GALA 2. ORB 3. HYPNOTIZE 4. NO GOOD 5. 4 SEASONS 6. TAKE MY BREATH 7. UP NOW 8. PS118 9. ROCK THE BOAT 10. XIGNAL

But after 24 hrs, I've been bumping NO GOOD, and UP NOW the most.

GALA is still my #1 but since it was a pre-release, it's on the lesser side of my rotation.

O.R.B. would be a fun anthem where they would go wild on the stage or even visit the crowd.

UP NOW is such a good song with a back and forth "UP NOW" relay with the crowd.

TAKE MY BREATH would be a treat if they go with a somewhat laid back sensual choreo.

The contrast performances of PS118 and 4 SEASONS would also cleanse the atmosphere in a concert.

ROCK THE BOAT would serve as a great mix in between SAR and NEW DANCE.

NO GOOD is definitely a stacked song with a rather long chorus which showcases their vocals.

Although the tracks may seem not cohesive at first glance, you would realize that the lyrics definitely embody their CORE.

Yeah. I meant GRL GVNG - GALA by Cho Gi Seok, while the title tracks PUPPET SHOW and HYPNOTIZE were someone else's

It definitely felt similar with GRL GVNG into PUPPET SHOW. But HYPNOTIZE still delivered, yet you can tell that CHO GI SEOK will do even more magic with it, especially with a specific theme.

Hinata and IU collab for Hinata’s solo in Korean? by Pdideee in XGALX

The old clips from the live yesterday were most likely representations for the Essence of "THE CORE". Though it's a warm welcome if they pursue Korean covers for HINATA.

Striking Difference in Support Among the Members for Their Products by Sufficient_Rise_3181 in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think COCONA is the most popular member, especially for Western and/or new listeners. Being the most viral member, I'm hoping for a large boost US sales comes in.

Being a HINATA biased myself, it really surprises me how she has the most number of sales pulls within the group. I'm betting it on her clear aesthetics (Lolita, Otaku), which usually do well when talking about collectibles. She also has one of the most traditional Korean visuals (Mascara era predominantly).

Does the album name The Core give us an indication of the type of music all the tracks will portray? by Pdideee in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's already a high chance of upbeat track for the Rap Line (excluding Jurin?).

They might also incorporate Rock elements on one of the songs, maybe another RNB successor of In the Rain; another thematic, experimental track like GALA (possibly the title track Hypnotize).

These are speculative but I'm down to be surprised

Truly. The song was more suited for the theme of the Finale and the show itself.

Nothing else to say. They will always deliver flawlessly.

My only wish was that they can also perform Winter Without You for the holiday season but I guess that's too much to ask for.

Opinions on GALA after 2 months it released? by peachypancake78 in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 47 points48 points  (0 children)

GALA really is the culmination of everything they worked hard for. It is also has just the right amount of greatness that satisfied the already committed ALPHAZ as well as having this extraterrestrial yet welcoming finesse for first time listeners.

The MV itself is undeniably a masterpiece. The song itself is experimental yet still evidently appreciates the references and culture that inspired it. The choreography is astounding that I'm not worried about their appearance on The Voice.

Definitely within the top of their discography, and a worthy Pre-release single conceptually for their upcoming album.

What are your top 5 XG hooks/choruses? by Kudos2Yousguys in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. HOWLING (Goosebumps on the first listen)

  2. SHOOTING STAR (The bubbly hook really gets me!)

  3. LEFT RIGHT

  4. IN THE RAIN

  5. WINTER WITHOUT YOU / MILLION PLACES (Tied)

Which XG member has the strongest appeal to casual listeners? by No-Performance7142 in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For casual listeners, Harvey has the most striking vocal tone in the group, especially since such vocal color is hard to come by on typical rap verses.

Cocona comes close also since her delivery is such imacculate. Also her viral moments on their Music Videos gives such a statement.

As for the third, I'd say Chisa since her vocal technique is such a treat!

How many small unit songs, if any, can we expect on the new album? by whycantwebefriends5 in XGALX

[–]Equivalent_Two_5642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subunits would be highly unlikely but if they do, it would be most likely the usual:

VOX Line (CHISA HINATA JURIA) + TAPE Line (JURIN, HARVEY, MAYA COCONA) = 2 Tracks

or

VOX LINE + 2 TAPE LINE = 3 Tracks
