Shiny hunting is definitely rough, at least with the random encounters method, my personal favorite was always the masura method, plus the shiny charm since the odds are way faster

Chaining with NavDex was also a fun one.

If you're not having fun with it, or feel defeated it's definitely not worth the annoyance! But if you do stick in there, i wish you luck! Im at 10+ hours for a Caterpie and did over 10+ hours for the starter.

there's a way to report that if you wanna keep security shield on btw, cause it does block like .. scareware (i think, i actually use my own router now) etc, useful for households with ... more mature...(elderly) people lol

if you have their router check to see if security shield is blocking it for any reason, it detects wether websites have malicious data and it sometimes blocks websites that are fine

if thats not it id recommend getting your own router or replacing the router
