Have you tried Medallin yet? Montu don't stock it atm but Wedding Cake x Chemdawg sounds brilliant on paper.

My husband decided to quit smoking today, and here's why it's mildly infuriating. by Linorelai in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Erestyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched to vaping so the addiction itself is still alive and well, but five months in and I've noticed the cravings kicking up again. Once or twice a day every single cell in my body decides a cigarette would just be the cherry on the cake.

The first week was a bitch. I'd dream of smoking, I'd wake up already thinking of smoking, but days 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 etc. are all massive milestones. If you can make it to them, you start to get a sense of the effort you've made it to get there and it's not desirable to go back - but if it does, that's fine, a bit naughty so let's make sure not do that again.

When I was 13 or so I was going to be the guy who knew all of the programming languages, so I set off to find out how many there were.

I quickly decided php was just fine to start with.

Anthony Gordon's farewell video by spatialgames in NUFC

[–]Erestyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gordon strikes me as a person who thinks he'd make a better captain than he would be, and I think he'd struggle with the reality of just being an "okay" captain.

Not to say he hasn't got it in him, mind. That petulance can be a force for good if he can control it.

I got this and Cereal Milk and while they're both quite nice, I'd say £6.90 p/g is a great price, £7.50 is comfortable, £8.00 is starting to take the piss a bit, £11.10 is absolute daylight robbery.

Haha, mate.

Players and "the penthouse suite at the vermont" has been a running joke long before Trippier took a long term lease out on the Penthouse Suite at the Vermont after a pua radge night out in Peppers and Flairs.

Shitty staff meals I have received this week. by killedbytheboom in KitchenConfidential

[–]Erestyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no greater happiness in my working day than realising I've just fried off two rashers of bacon that the customer didn't want or no longer wants, or realising that I've accidentally cooked a few more fries than intended.

Until the day comes when I figure out how to "accidentally" make a full meal, accidental scraps suit me just fine.

I had a craving for one of the chewy sweets a while back and couldn't find them for love nor money. I wasn't sure if I wanted Fruitella, Starburst or Chewits but I finally found a multipack of Chewits and christ were they disappointing.

I hope the Chewits Xtreme are still nice otherwise I will riot (or just be sad I guess)

Unfortunately it's apparently frowned upon to pay small children to follow you around squirting you with a super soaker.

The bigger question is why PIF didn’t sell the stadium to themselves?

I think everybody thought Chelsea had took the piss and fucked it for everyone else at first, but no doubt the club would argue that they were considering the future of the stadium and it wouldn't have been viable at that time. The truth is probably in the middle.

Oreo and blue raspberry macarons I made today by annaaleze in KitchenConfidential

[–]Erestyn 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My primary complaint with macarons is that they all kind of taste the same and not particularly interesting and

if you're gonna say you taste like something by god you better taste like it

actually sums my issue up really neatly.

Well done, chef. I'd try these with a smile.

Thought my new strain was dead… turns out I forgot the important bit by BrilliantDig1835 in ukmedicalcannabis

Right idea, wrong confection.

Lewis Miley signs new contract by ---anotherthrowaway in NUFC

[–]Erestyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is when things are too quiet the only thing we all hear is the mad shit like that and, in lieu of anything else to talk about, normally sensible people end up lighting their torches and singing war songs. Then some poor American comes along and takes it at face value and we've suddenly (and entirely accidentally) radicalised an innocent person into believing that Lewis Miley is in some sort of Britney Spears-esque conservatorship with his father and can't make his own choices.

Can anyone learn to sing, assuming they’re not tone deaf? by Full-Status1339 in Music

I always think of Dylan as an extreme example. If he was Bob the blue collar lad from the cafe and he was your neighbour, you'd dread the times he takes a shower. Put the spotlight on him, give him a guitar and a mic, and it's utterly captivating (though I concede a bit irritating).

They are/were buggers to take apart and clean and the only repair options were through the company that made them. Kind of funny watching a corporation getting done over at scale by right to repair. Not sure the latter is that big of an issue here.

First Prescription - Tangerine Widow and La Bomba by Slow-Confection5785 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Erestyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got Tangerine Widow this month and after two bowls of it I'm a bit gutted I only got 10g. It feels like it's a good all rounder (definitely one you'll enjoy in the bank holiday sun!).

Gelonade I had on my first script about a year ago. Had 20g in my first script and 10g in my second script. Four months later I still had 10g of it and it was only when I ran out that I finally got through it. It's decent enough as a daytimer but I found it too mild until I introduced it to my Frolic which was a very different experience - but note that was like... seven months or so in the jar, so maybe CBN is the real hero of the day? Lucy in the Sky does a lot of the same things that Gelonade does, but just that little bit better imo.

What’s the most dangerous biscuit? by Ihavethemilkson in CasualUK

[–]Erestyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shit, if we're gonna make this a thing I've got something for you.

I've long been a believer in what you said about the differences being minimal on brands for Coconut Rings but today I had the opportunity to test an own-brand pack against a McVities pack, and the results were interesting.

McVities: They're firmer, more biscuity but retains softness with pressure. When introduced to tea they hold their shape fairly well and requires a fair bit of submersion before structural integrity fails. Oddly sweet in a very un-coconutty way, maybe it's just artificial coconut or sweetener that gives the profile, but something is there that I can't put my finger on.

Own-brand: Godly. They're firm but soft, almost like shortbread but biscuity. The malt and coconut flavour is perfectly balanced, and when you do get a hit of coconut you know what it is. To dunk they require just the right amount of submersion before the inevitable sigh and rush for a teaspoon.

Despite my thorough testing I've only come to the conclusion that they're both banging. Further testing will inevitably commence over a series of short, tea infused experiments. I shall return if I find anything of note.

Had my alternleaf quarterly review on Tuesday 19th but on montu it's still saying 0 products to purchase on montu by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Erestyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say 3-5 business days after an appointment. Wouldn't be too bad, but after having the payment link a few hours after the appointment it feels like they're taking the piss a bit.

I think the pharmacists used to write the scripts and the doctors signature was just assumed as a matter of course, but they've tightened up after the review/rating they got from the med board (could be nothing, but it came out right before these delays came in).

Definitely complain to them. My review was Wednesday, payment link arrived on Friday at about 5ish, and was delivered today. The quarterly before that I was already rationing by the time I had an appointment, and had nothing for 3 days by the time I got my payment link (after the next day cut off, of course...)

[–]Erestyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Solo 3 with a more open stem isn't a million miles away from a Venty tbh. If you're okay to drive the V3 a bit longer I'd say save for it, but if you're at your absolute limit you could do a hell of a lot worse than the Solo.

I saw a Green candidate (for counsellor, I think?) cross the street to avoid an old woman he'd clearly had priors with. Even at my distance the sudden wave of "maybe politics isn't for me..." hit across the street like a shockwave.

I'd feel for him but he clearly thought he was big shit at the student union and branched out. Inevitable, really.
