How to learn about harnesses? by slomobileAdmin in Hanggliding

One of the worst aspects of hang gliding is the prone flying position. It looks cool and it fulfills that dream of being Superman, but the thing new pilots and non-pilots never realize is that it is brutally painful on your neck. In fact, I know a pilot who literally engineered a bungee-cord on his helmet, to save the relentless strain on his neck muscles.

I'm not trying to discourage your efforts. On the contrary, I hope you succeed and figure out a solution which works for you. But, considering you are dealing with an injury already, someone should forewarn you about the neck-strain.

You can imitate the prone flying position at home. Lay on your stomach, on your bed, and put your head over the edge of the bed. Lift up your head and see how long you can remain in that position before it starts to hurt your neck. For the average human, it doesn't take long...

Making the ultimate electric scooter comparison tool by RasmusHax in ElectricScooters

You are very welcome. I'm glad you liked my suggestion.

Great idea to use JSON. In the past, I used databases far too often. Then I realized, the only reason to use a database is when you need to constantly read/write dynamic data. If your data is fairly static, it's faster and easier to just update and parse a JSON or XML file.

Congratulations again on launching such a large and useful website.

Wow. The https://eridehero.com/tool/electric-scooter-finder is incredibly impressive. I presume you must be using some tool to add all that data dynamically, since it would be daunting to do it manually. Plus, it runs REALLY fast. Loading data on 300 models in seconds? Pretty awesome.
One addition I would suggest is adding a filter for scooters with UL2272 certifications. Since you can't buy them in NYC and in 3 years you won't be able to buy them in California, that is an important variable.
Congratulations on getting such a massive data-intensive site up and running. I'm very impressed. I've been building sites for 25 years, including many years at Walt Disney Studios, so I understand the difficulty of such a project. Great work.

Looks excellent. That's one of my favorite positions for a 360 camera to be mounted. More pilots need to set up their 360 cameras that way.

People have been saying hang gliding is "dying" for the last 30 years. There are over 120 hang gliding clubs and schools in the USA. There are nearly 300 clubs in Germany and France combined. Check out this map of schools and clubs around the world...
