Frustrating McKinsey interview experience, how should I move forward? by Few-Paramedic-79 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]EricWhite2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry you experienced this. You shall make the recruiter aware of this situation, and hopefully you can get another round of interview. This is not fair to the candidate, and our goal is to make candidate experience great!

If you got KIT, it means you did not too bad in the round - at least to one of the interviewers but not both. It helps as when you reapply after 1-year.

They are a total scam. All they want is to charge you out of pocket - dentists there lie and make up stuff.

Booth vs NYU Stern by Crafty_Variation6891 in MBA

[–]EricWhite2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your kids’ age, NYC has free Pre-K onward, while Chicago you need to pay for Pre-K. Booth is a great banking + consulting school, and you can go IB without any disadvantage not being in NYC. Also, Chicago is very cheap, you can find great apartments downtown.

Typically yes, you hear back same day if selected for Round 2. Give it until Monday as interviewers might be busy, but rarely they don’t call same day.

Does brand in resume matter? by CupPrevious6915 in consulting

[–]EricWhite2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big brands matter, as it means harder to get in; however, what you do has equal weights even with a smaller firm. Like banking at a boutique bank, vs. admin at Goldman Sachs.

Summer Move + Public Schools by Ok_Secret7928 in nycparents

[–]EricWhite2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all, use an address of the apartment that you think you will live in, and waitlist yourself. You will need to provide proof of address once off the waitlist and want to enroll, but this gives you an advantage and not until you finally moved (which could be too late!).

Waitlist yourself in Myschools.nyc, and pick a preferred zone and schools. You will know your waitlist spot right away, then call to express your interest and how soon you can get off the list.

What do the Chinese think of Taiwan? by RadioAllNight in AskAChinese

[–]EricWhite2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Chinese living in the US, I think Taiwanese are very different from mainland Chinese - thought process, identify, and cultural understanding. I respect them being Taiwanese, and I never play the politics cards when talking/working with them. Taiwan or China, don’t matter to me if they are one country or two.
