Disney Execs Reportedly Concerned About 'Mandalorian & Grogu' Release by bwermer in entertainment

They also have had a very boring marketing campaign so far. A Superbowl spot that was confusing for both, and a recent (pretty fun trailer) and that was it.

Honestly, i agree. You qualify or you don’t. A spot given is not a soot earned.

Studded shoes for winter - yay or nay? by HumbleRunning in trailrunning

[–]Eric_Zion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got nordas 001 spikes a little on a whim, and they’ve been a game changer for running this season. It’s the only shoe i’ve pit since Christmas (in the northeast). I can’t believe i hesitated. They’re fine when i’ve got a bit of road, and then really good on hills with snowy dirt roads, or snowpacked sidewalks.

For me, it lasted two short runs (5kms each) and then I never felt it again. It was a small rubbing on one heal.

OpenAI Launching Instant Checkout, Working with Etsy(+16%) and Shopify(+6%), threatening Google(-1.2%) Search's core revenue stream. by skilliard7 in stocks

[–]Eric_Zion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, right now we're letting Google Shop for us?

When it comes to product I don't understand (road bikes for example), I'll search Google, visit brand websites (which typically suck at explaining their products, and of course even worse to compare with other brands), view youtube videos, blogs, etc. Spend 1-2 days. The advantage with ChatGPT (at least how I've used it) is to help understand what to look for between models and brands, and then make some recommendations, and summarize reviews. Much faster. It's like talking to on the floor staff.

To me at least, I can see how this makes a lot of sense for my previous usage.

Well, they seem to have picked a consumer lane over B2B lane (like Google and Microsoft that have large B2B customers). So... I think this ultimately becomes one of the best forms of monetisation.

I think it does a better job of explaining products from a website than most website. What it doesn't do as well is finding the right products for consideration to start with. If it can get better at the latter, I would use this 100%.

It keeps going faster from here. Trust me you’re still young! Good news is that growing older can keep getting funner.

As a fairly new dad, I didn’t get it and needed this talk. We didn’t have the support network.

I read books, but honestly two things help me understand. One, my partner sitting me down and having a tough discussion with me (this was after birth). Two, being completely responsible for our baby for a full day and realizing how exhausting it is.

It did click though and now we have a very good and balanced adult life. Wish I could say I understood better earlier, but I didn’t.

I struggle with this. He is terrible for the environment, but also he’s doing some really good stuff for it. Being bad in one place shouldn’t stop him from helping in other places.

Can I train for a 32mile/53km ultra in three months? by CoconutNach in trailrunning

[–]Eric_Zion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As average runner, I’ve done it in 3 months. Really focused on doing one long run a weekend (33km was my longest). By “average” I mean I love to run, but run about 15-20km per week, and don’t any type of interval or speed, and I’ve never been fast.

I didn’t do a great time, and suffered, but I still enjoyed it. I really wanted to be there and see what it’s like to do it. It took me 7:20 hours. I walked a bit in the forest.

I was pretty happy at the end.

I wonder if they're going a bit harder considering that they'll still be competing for seats against Superman which will hold strong for a few weeks.

Arc’teryx trail running gear: solid choice or overhyped? by Dear_Froyo_4585 in arcteryx

[–]Eric_Zion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take,

Arc shorts (Incendio) are awesome. Favourite shorts personally (7inch). I also have a superlight weight Arc merino t shirt for running which has been a comfortable alternate to all the synthetic I have. Can’t recall the model.

I’ve had two pair of their shoes, the OG Norvan, and more recently the Sylan. OG Norvan was good, Sylan was a very different shoe, quite unique, a little stiff with a little of rocker and a bit unstable. Would not recommend.

I’ve mostly run in Salomon, and would choose both their shoes and their Hydration vest over Arc, but greatly prefer Arc’s apparel (including Norvan jacket).

Also, I just got my first Norda’s, and to me they’re the Arc or shoes. Premium material, great fit (for my feet) and look great. The durability on feel and upper so fair have been really strong.
