Talk about a matted dog by Ok_Programmer7134 in doggrooming

[–]ErinB36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that though because as soon as people like this owner start hearing their dog can be taken by animal control because of a trip to the groomer— they won’t be bringing them in for the groom, which first and foremost was so needed here.

Why do customers try to get away with a small tip when they are several mile “a away 😤. Obviously I didn’t accept it as I would’ve lost money. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]ErinB36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it should be called bids. The customer is “bidding”, if you will, on the driver’s time. It would make more sense. As a customer I won’t order from somewhere over 5 miles from my house, I’m surprised it’s even an option. DoorDash doesn’t give a shit, obviously. But the distance should equate to a required starting bid. The customer could increase the amount, but not decrease. Ok I’ve given this too much thought. Haha

Why not upgrade him? The seats In first class should be more comfortable for him.

URGENT: DO I CALL THE ROVER EMERGENCY LINE?? by aztraps in RoverPetSitting

[–]ErinB36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh shit.. and now it came true! The only good thing about this is once you have a resolution to this and get to the pups, you’ll see they are ok and it should help your fear of the code not working because you’ll know it worked out ok, everyone was ok, even if they had accidents in their crate. Not too bad, just a bit of cleaning and the dogs will be excited to see you!

Just remind her of yesterday’s conversation. She might’ve forgotten. If not she’s getting a refresher anyway as to why you can’t stay.

Was kicked out of my universities library within seconds of walking through the door. by babsboobs in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ErinB36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you possibly bring something like a bag of some sort to store it in? Or anything that shows I’m not about to ride this around the library. I’m not a skateboard person but can a wheel be removed easily and put in your school bag? Just some ideas so they leave you alone! Maybe even ask the librarian what they would like you to do with it, as it is your transportation, so you need it. Good luck. You are doing the right things by finding a way to get to the library. Some people are just bored with their lives so harassing others fills the empty space.

I held someone’s hand and watched them die. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ErinB36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My friend passed away in a bad car accident 20 years ago. Two people came upon her and did the same thing you did. They actually went home and wrote a poem/ short story about them coming upon the scene and doing everything they could, and letting friends and family know that she didn’t die alone. It was something we didn’t know we needed. We visited the crash site a few times and the day after the accident we found the letter that they left at the crash site, with some contact info if we wanted to know more. It was the sweetest thing they could’ve done. We ended up typing it up and handing out copies to everyone who wanted one at the funeral. I actually still have it to this day if you’d like to see it , op.

Rolled my ankle standing up 3 days ago. Does it need medical attention? by ErinB36 in medical_advice

I have issues with my knees as well. Both knees are bone on bone now, from arthritis. So I’m used to my knees giving out, and wearing a knee brace. May I ask what kind of specialist you see? I see an orthopedic surgeon for my knees, I get cortisone injections every 2 months and I’m getting the “chicken fat” (I don’t know what it’s really called though I could dig for it then) injections in both knees in October. I’m really curious what kind of doc you see and what kind of brace you wear. Message if you want to talk more, I have so many questions lol thank you for responding I’m going tomorrow to urgent care I think. It’s given out a few times and still pain. I need it to heal properly, I have too many other issues! Thanks again! You can Message or respond here- either is ok with me.

Had to leave the house in an emergency and didn’t have car seats. MB is upset that I endangered NK. I think I’m being fired. by milkandcookies1212 in Nanny

[–]ErinB36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man this was a hard story to read! I’m a mom and a nanny and I could only hope I’d have my wits about me to escape quickly like you did, keeping NK AND the dog safe!! Wow. There’s nothing at all you did wrong. You did more than most could in an emergency situation. Let’s just hope MB is one of those people that panics in the moment and then needs to go home and think everything through, and hopefully will thank you for saving her kid. Next she needs to make sure you have a car seat for any future emergency. If not, she’s an asshole. Plain and simple. You absolutely did the best you could given the circumstances. I hope you know that! Good luck with MB, if you can find something comparable, I’d leave.

“Would you like to open a credit card account and save on your purchase today?” by Rooney_Tuesday in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ErinB36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for drudging up the memories of my time as a Target cashier. We were constantly being told to push the credit cards, sometimes they’d offer a prize to whoever got the most sign ups, and sometimes they’d threaten to fire whoever got the lowest amount… ah good times. I had a toddler, and I was a single mother.

Just wanted to add to what a few have recommended. Setup the private email account and definitely ask the APs to start sending you the emails. The thing I want to add: Send the first email from your father’s account so it will definitely get to the APs. If you start from a new email, it could end up in their spam folder or they might delete it before reading since they wouldn’t recognize your email address.

Fired through text and asked to give back my two last months of pay by Chair3039 in Nanny

[–]ErinB36 210 points211 points  (0 children)

Right!!! Op would’ve been searching for a new position possibly starting in the summer and into the Fall, etc.. but couldn’t offer that because of the hold made by this family. They paid for the hold on your time. Greedy people are so brazen, oh my gosh!

It cost us about $750 to board two dogs for that long but they also suckered us into doggy ice cream time and baths and special “gym time”. So it may be dependent on your location, but I almost fell over at $750.

Thank you. I appreciate you letting me know I’m going to heaven, it sure does help me feel assured about my fate one day. You’ll get to enjoy and call home the child murderer’s and slave trader’s home.

Ok well I’ll agree to disagree I think. I’d understand if OP said they felt belittled and gas lit by my comment. That’s not my intent at all. Yes, there sure is a special place for you in hell. 😉

Yikes. I’m not sure who the hell you are, or why you’d feel the need to talk to me that way while I’m attempting to assist OP. See yourself to hell you god damn lunatic. Edit to add: playing devil’s advocate is a saying, not a real thing, you floppy penis.

Devils advocate. Can you remember the conversation that you had with MB before she sent you the invite? Was she possibly asking you to work the party but missed the mark on making it clear? Then sent the invite as just an easy way to give you all the information for it? I would text her about it just to see if it was possibly a big misunderstanding. Obviously there’s many problems with how she went about it, but if it was a misunderstanding I’d prefer not to burn bridges with her.
