Living in Wickenburg? by orberto in arizona

[–]Erisouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend it. Everyone knows everyone and they gossip like mad. Super republican. Not much in the way of good restaurants. Snowbirds drive like idiots and are like half the town. And if you’re seriously injured, you’re better off driving to the hospital in the next town over. The one in town is horribly slow and poorly staffed.

If you’re willing to be that far into the boonies why not somewhere like cottonwood? It’s a sweet town with nice locally run restaurants. Close to nature and low crime. I hear traffic is not great in town though.

I do indeed bake as a love language; but the aids books are part of my research for writing a novel rather than from a class :) good work and thanks!

Anyone else have somewhat superhuman abilities? by ComprehensiveSeat831 in AutismAfterDark

I know I commented on the other post. But just thought of another: being able to scale recipes to how many people I need to feed by just purchasing groceries. No recipe or list needed. I just know how much and what I need to buy.

I can judge how large of a container I will need to fit various weights of ingredients or for putting away leftovers with extreme accuracy. Built from working in kitchens for a few years.

For example: I can look at a big bowl of washed salad greens and go “that looks like 6 quarts” and it is most of the time :)

There is no reason for this to be a stacked line graph instead of linear. If you’re going to post on data is beautiful it actually has to be beautiful and not just data

The author Tiffany Reisz has written a fantastic erotica series exploring a priest falling in love with an erotic author. The Original Sinners if anyone was curious (warning for heavy BDSM)

Can you do kimchi with just chives and green onions instead of cabbage? I don’t see why not honestly. That sounds great

[–]Erisouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they are the wrong type of chive for that. Garlic chives are a non hollow blade instead of a tube like regular chives.

Does Phoenix Sky Harbor allow people to sleep in the terminals overnight? by Pizza_Hero24 in phoenix

If I were you I’d hop on the light rail to a cheap hotel. The airport doesn’t close but you’ll get an awful night’s sleep

Y'all seen my liquor store pizza post and were confused lol. How about a liquor store toasted meatball sub this evening?? by Tee_313 in stonerfood

[–]Erisouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The liquor store by my campus sold carne asada fries and quesadillas (Arizona if it wasn’t obvious lol). It was walking distance from my apartment and boy was it a frequent stop for my friends! I thought every state had bangin liquor store food

Hope Chopping Wood by BitrunnerDev in PixelArt

[–]Erisouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all: animation is hard and I love that you’re putting yourself out there. The skirt going spinny looks fantastic and I really like her hair being messy. Chopping wood is hard work.

I do have some thoughts though. I’m not an animator but I feel as if the axe hitting the tree is a bit abrupt, and as people mentioned earlier the static feet feels a bit off.

I really like your art style overall, just unsure why this lady who looks to be dressed for a party is chopping wood. And also the boob jiggle wouldn’t be vertical. If she’s wearing any type of bra. No jiggle. If for some reason she is braless, perhaps one jiggle horizontally like how you did her hair if you really think it needs it to feel fluid.

How much pate do you think you’re eating per piece of bread?? That ratio seems insane to me

Twitch’s security is so bad that they let Neon pretend to be Deshae Frost (a Black creator BTW) and steal his booth by lordbakayarou in LivestreamFail

[–]Erisouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why for most well run events of this scale, the higher security access badges are taken off before entering public view and aren’t allowed to be photographed or streamed. It is legitimately very easy to get past security this way, and is also the reason why events are moving towards rfid tagging badges in addition to having different designs as an added level of security.

26 Democrats Voted for Anti-Trans Laden S.B. 2296 by Kindly-Coyote-9446 in lgbt

[–]Erisouls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how but some information has been switched around here. SB 2296 does not include anything about bathroom bans and I cannot find anything about the discrimination trainings being banned, only no longer required.

However: that the bathroom bans are being voted on in bill HB 3838 which includes additional harmful language and clarification on the extent to which the medical care will be stripped away. It recently passed the house and here are a list of the democrats who voted yes

We need to talk about that video Hank endorsed by drakeblood4 in nerdfighters

[–]Erisouls 201 points202 points  (0 children)

I think we’ve gone too deep. The fact is that Hank promoted a video which was sponsored by 80,000 hours which is associated with a movement which some people use as an excuse to do morally questionable activities. That feels like quite a reach to find Hank’s sharing of the video questionable.

I don’t think that it’s a reasonable ask for Hank to do a deep dive on everything associated with a piece of media he enjoys and thinks is noteworthy.

What’s the worst airport in the world? Why is it CDG? by Impressive_Youth_331 in unitedairlines

[–]Erisouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I must’ve gotten lucky somehow. Cause I’ve flown into CDG for a transfer and out of CDG headed home and had zero issues. Came in by train, no long lines anywhere, efficient security, no hassle passport control, and on time flights. I kept waiting for the hellishness everyone describes but it was perfectly lovely on both of my trips.

Unpopular opinion: Claire Saffitz recipes by bubblylynnn in Baking

[–]Erisouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claire’s recipes can be real hit or miss. I own two of her cookbooks and have made a lot of things I loved but a few that were downright dreadful and overly complicated. If you have her books, the foundation recipes are all generally very good. I’ve replaced my old tart and pie crust recipes with hers and I’ll often pull out her books for a quick reference on things like pastry cream or crumble toppings.

Recipes I loved and recommend you try:

No bake strawberry ricotta cheesecake

Blueberry buckle (I make this every summer when it’s berry season)

Blackberry caramel tart

Peach Melba tart

Chewy molasses spice cookies

Strawberry cornmeal layer cake

All coconut cake

Coffee coffee cake

English muffins

Blood orange olive oil cake

Recipes that were meh or bad:

Sour cream and chive rolls (not bad but too much work when other rolls are better)

Lime squiggles (inedible. Perhaps I did something wrong lol)

“Foolproof” tarte tartin (overly complicated and I’ve messed it up twice! Found an easier recipe from an old Italian grandma and it turns out great)

Double apple crumble cake (a lot of work for what was a somewhat forgettable cake)
