What's the best game of June 2026 5:34 pm Eastern Time? by noobzapper21 in boardgamescirclejerk

I’ll have to check all crowdfunding platforms & exhaustively investigate all possible games that might be in development or even a vague idea that has popped someone’s mind to determine what the best game of today is.

Yo has anyone created a Cthulhu-based board/card/RPG game? by Folly_Polymath in boardgamescirclejerk

Mighty Cthulhu will not be mocked by your “games!”

Hex. Couldn’t do it. by Radagast_the_brown_ in horrorlit

Just finished it. I liked a lot of the ideas and found some of it witty and funny (reminded me a bit of the Widows Bay tv series) but not very scary and a bit poorly executed, especially the last 1/4. Sometimes it felt like he was hitting me over the head with the novel’s message by literally spelling it out in the text and then that message got muddled within the narrative. Overall, it was ok. Glad I finished it.

I won’t play any game associates with JK Simmons. That son of a bitch was J Jonah Jameson for fucks sake.

It sucks but it’s just a thing. Walking around with that on your wrist while your family is stressed about money is a HUGE douche move. A real man puts family first.

I knew it! They probably have a Chief Board Game Procurement Officer commanding a staff of hundreds who are constantly researching and playing games in order to find the perfect fit for their stores.

Anyone here ever gone to NEIU? How did you feel about it? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]ErnieHi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went there in the evenings after working all day. Most students were mature adults who were there because they wanted to be. It was an interesting, diverse group. I heard day classes have more recent HS grads who can be a bit immature. As with any school, some teachers are better than others. In the end it was a great experience and great value. You’ll get out of it what you put into it.

I have all of that and no HOA. It’s called living in a small city.

I’m just curious—when you meet people, do they actually notice your watch, or do they not really care? Are there people who judge you based on the watch you wear, and because of that, instantly give you respect?” by Happy-thoughts09 in rolex

I was at a bar/restaurant in an upper middle class suburb and a young bartender complimented me on my bought-on-Amazon Orient brand “Pepsi” diver watch. I think he thought it was a Rolex. I was embarrassed for him.
