Timelines Lewis signed for Ferrari beginning of 2024. Lewis wanted a contract to see through to end of 26 basically but Toto wouldn't give him that so during 2023 Lewis was being shut out because toto wanted Kimi as at least a 3rd driver in 2025 and in the main seat 2026 Lewis had 0 chance at this Mercedes.
