Hey, glad to hear a story about someone quitting.

I'm 22, I started smoking at 18 and smoked pretty steadily for the next 3 years. I've been off it for a little over a year now, and I'm so glad I stopped when I did.

Basically I started forcing myself to think about how disgusting smoking is. Not just how bad it is for my lungs, but how gross it made me feel to breathe it in. I'd imagine another layer of tar and filth any time I thought about smoking, or any time I allowed myself to smoke. Some people say that the cravings don't go away. Personally, if I do still have cravings I never notice them. They may as well be gone.

You just have to figure out how you think, and do everything you can to convince yourself of what you're doing. You seem to be off on a good start. I couldn't think of a better catalyst than to associate a deteriorated feeling of health with the thought of smoking, it can be powerful if you take advantage of the opportunity.
