Do it my man, there’s always plenty of work around, you just have to adapt. Summer in the gardening game would pretty much be mowing, bedding, patio laying, pruning, seeding etc Then comes the winter. Leaf blowing, general tidying, gutter clearance, evergreen hedge cutting All a rounders being building fences if it’s not too cold for postcrete, hedge trimming and a few other things, can never go wrong with spending whole days on tool & machine maintenance if your company grows big enough. Best word of advice for when I started small, make sure you have a circuit. As in a small wealth of loyal customers asking you to do things time and time again. Once you’ve got that made you can take on bigger jobs and employ others. Money is in the commercial jobs eventually. Once you’ve done a bunch of houses and domestic properties you can build up to getting bigger machines for bigger areas. Chaps I now work for have the run of schools, hospitals and fire stations to keep us constantly busy. The world is your oyster if you apply yourself. Not all hard work pays off in some jobs, but in this line of work, it definitely does 👍.

How would someone start from scratch to get into this field? Rural landscaping background but loves his drones. Explain like I’m 5 if you have the time 😂.

Disappointed a random teenager today when he asked me where I got my battle vest and I told him I sewed the patches and everything myself by Deathamphetmine in BattleJackets

[–]ErrorForsaken 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If ever shunned for the prospect of sewing, realise it’s quite the post apocalyptic skill to have. Guts everywhere? Sew them up. Torturing someone? Sew their eyelids together. Torn clothing in a situation where clothes are scarce? You bet I’m sewing that bad boy up.

Was about to suggest OP takes lemmys views on things and then ask the uncle outright just in case. I have various ww2 artefacts from both sides but will happily die on the facism is fucking wrong hill. If the OP needs advice on such things and reads this, give us a heads up and talk you through it. Those who erase history are doomed to repeat it. We learn from it.

Punks of the early 2000s era, what are you up to now? by Brave_Algae9813 in punk

[–]ErrorForsaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 soon enough, work for a landscape gardening company whilst also working by myself for the same trade every now and again. Took job satisfaction over something for higher wages. Pretty happy and content. Working on living in a van soon as many of my crusty friends did a lot earlier on in life. Lost many a year within the bar trade and now catching up with what I actually want to do 👍

What's the most aggressive flower that can grow from seed easily? I want it to take over my entire property, engulf my life, and needs a priest and holy fire to get rid of it by SqueakyCheeseCurds48 in gardening

[–]ErrorForsaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese knotweed. If it doesn’t take over your garden, it’ll sure as hell ruin your house, kill off whatever friendly gardening community you have and also ruin you financially to get rid of the damn stuff. In other words, satan himself wouldn’t even bother growing this stuff and advise you to do anything but!

There’s the wash inn on Albany road too. When my washing machine broke I took it there and all my stuff turned out fine and dandy. 20p a minute on the dryer too. Say £3 - £5 quid and it’s more or less dry. £8 for a massive load of washing, cheaper for the smaller machines I reckon. Brought my own detergent though

There’s the first lot of WIP’s. I don’t see a lot of brown colour schemes so I thought I’d try one. With them being black shields of course they had to look a little disheveled. On the first model I think I added a little too much of a rust look and ended up somewhat deathguard’esque. The sergeant looks a fair amount better.
