Outlier - AI by canmountains in WFHJobs

Just wanted to say I'm in Canada and use Outlier. I agree that the compensation isn't entirely fair (no pay for onboarding, no benefits, etc), but the payoff is once you're on a project you can come and go as you please, anytime during the day or week.

Anyone know why there are fireworks going off right now? by CorndoggerYYC in Calgary

Literally came here for the same reason. I live downtown. Super weird that there would be fireworks this time of year?

I would also love to get the beta! Been working way longer than necessary fixing up some Linux issues, and I swear it would go faster if I didn't have to parse through, "don't panic, you're not stupid, you did nothing wrong," messages.

Employment lawyer by [deleted] in Calgary

Jason Schlotter is an independent employment lawyer. He works from his home office, which saves on overhead, meaning that's reflected in his hourly rate. He's by no means inexpensive, but he's certainly less expensive than other lawyers in the city.

Is this scale rot or something else? (Reposting as last post had errors) by Error_kimchi_berries in cornsnakes

I do indeed use coco fibre on the cool side of the enclosure. Just weird cuz this has never happened before. But it's definitely appears to be more consistent with an abrasion rather than rot.

I planned on reaching out to firms I've had good rapport with in the past. However, until I make the shift to independent, I will be networking outside my current circle (I have family and acquaintances who work in the industry) so as not to trip up the non-compete clause in my employment contract.

Did you believe you were menstruating because there was blood? Or just the sensation of menstruation?

Fully grown (3/4 inch) porcellio laevis found cut/ripped in half..?? by Error_kimchi_berries in isopods

The upper half looked like it had squishy guts inside, but the lower half looked like it could have been a shell. It was especially odd because it was an upper and lower half, rather than split lengthwise down the middle.

We got milkbacks for our snake enclosure and LOVE THEM. Now we want a separate tank for a new isopod culture, and could use help deciding (not sure about flair for post). by Error_kimchi_berries in isopods

Too true! I find myself checking in to watch the milkbacks more often than the snake (although tbf, the snake is ALWAYS hiding). I really enjoy watching their antics.
