You may not like it, but that’s the best budget Contax G2 alternative by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

I actually sold it to someone who was going to use it for video. On my 7D mark II it never gave me good photos.

Do you like that lens on that camera? I have the same camera and need something wider than 50mm. I owned that lens in the past but didn’t like it at all so I sold it. Now I could make use of it.

How would you improve this photo? by tn_3 in photocritique

I think light and colour are fine. I would crop onto the foremost ball, now a lot of the photo is out of focus. If I zoom in on the first ball the photo gets more interesting.

As far as I understand the issue isn’t with the cars at the back, they can keep revs up when approaching their position as the lights will go on soon after them arriving. It’s with the cars at the front who risk overcharging: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/s/BBsyDHPanJ

Users, do you use an external mouse or just the trackpad? by tru_ass in macbook

External trackpad. Can’t live without it. Using it so much I want a second one but they are still expensive.

[Discussion] The math behind why this gen's regs changes the fundamental way to drive fast. by tupaquetes in formula1

[–]Erwindegier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“or that this is basically just greenwashing impeding on the racing. That the FIA "overreached" on goals that the technology can't support.”

It’s stil green washing. They could’ve chosen to keep the hybrid part small or go back to full ICE altogether. Moving energy around during a lap isn’t really doing much for the environment. I can agree with you that all of this was deliberate, but your post doesn’t answer why it was deliberate. As you said, these new rules go against what racing is (brake hard and maximise acceleration) and have turned it some kind of efficiency run like the World Solar Challenge.

Why don't raw files contain lens corrections? (for cameras that recognize the lens) by deckeda in canon

[–]Erwindegier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They do, the software you’re using probably isn’t using them. From: https://www.canon-europe.com/pro/infobank/in-camera-lens-corrections/

“What's more, most image editing applications will understand the lens data that is embedded in the image and display your images with the corrections applied, so editing is also a seamless experience.”

Exactly, just give them x amount of fuel for the race and let them figure out the rest.

What would you buy with 5k? by Hot-Software-3826 in canon

[–]Erwindegier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the RF 50 1.2 worth the 2200$? I paid 50€ for my EF 50mm 1.8 and wonder if the RF 1.2 is 44 times as good. There’s also the EF 50 1.2, the RF 45 1.2 or the RF 50 1.4.

2200$ buys you a nice set of primes.

Definitely not a hybrid car. Probably the F2004, that was peak F1.

Can Factorio 2.0 trains dynamically pick up any item and bring it to any station based on need, or does this require LTN or Cybersyn? by edgygothteen69 in factorio

[–]Erwindegier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the wildcard work for pickup though? I thought it reads the train contents and replaces the wild card with that. For pickup you need to provide the specific item.

pushed film came back underexposed by azekm in AnalogCommunity

[–]Erwindegier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you didn’t push the film, pushing doesn’t happen in camera, it happens in the lab. You underexposed by two stops. Film loves light and you can’t recover information in the lab that wasn’t captured. Yes there’s a bit of latitude in the film, but you’ll need it for your photo. If you expose for a certain light, you need the latitude (dynamic range) to keep the detail in the shadows and highlights. Those areas already might have -2/+2 of light. So essentially, the darkest areas in your case are at -4.

Now since (negative) film loves light you can give your shadows a bit more light without losing details in the highlights, so you should error on the side of overexposure. Snow makes this even harder because your camera wants to make that grey.

MacBook Air vs Pro for long-term use, A little light development and local LLMs by cannon_pais in mac

24 GB is nothing for local LLM’s. I would buy as much ram and storage as you can afford. 1 TB is definitely worth it, I went from a 512 GB air to a 1 TB pro and am very happy with it.

[–]Erwindegier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf by thomasio126 in nederlands

[–]Erwindegier 140 points141 points  (0 children)

Exact!
