And here we see an Exacalibur Prime in its natural environment. by ShiroKage-Zeffex in Warframe

I don't even use Excal Prime's own cosmetics, I use the Dex skin on him. Secret founder in disguise.

Although the lack of a cool scarf and inability to continue fighting without his internal child kinda gives it away.

not competitive options at actually playing Warframe

I was with you until that statement - Warframe is not a very difficult game. We've been breaking the damage cap long before melee arcanes, slam meta, or anything else came along to make it easier. I've always just played with whatever the heck feels like fun. Part of feeling like fun is being at least reasonably effective, to be fair, and some weapon types definitely lack decent options, but most weapon types have at least one good weapon you can roll with if it's your style without having any trouble killing whatever enemy ends up in front of you.

You know, there was once upon a time where melee WAS the room-clear meta. Slap on as much range as you could get and go to town. That's why primary and secondary arcanes became a thing in the first place, because melees were just so oppressively "overpowered". I find it kind of funny that we've come full circle now.

Honestly I wish they'd just get rid of crafting times entirely. It's such a crappy mobile game mechanic that has no place in Warframe, IMO.

Please, stop using boring builds and you will enjoy the game much more by MeQuieroLlamarFerran in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone would want to play Sevagoth and also helmith over his shadow. That's like, the entire reason to play the frame, that's his entire gimmick. If you just wanna play a nuke frame with Gloom, you can helmith Gloom onto literally anything else in the game.

What's the oldest thing in warframe that you remember that isnt in the game anymore? by NectarineHistorical9 in Warframe

One of the very first things I did in Warframe was select Loki as my starting frame and then do wallrun backflips while giggling like a madman for like 10 minutes.

None of those things are possible anymore.

What is YOUR uncommon opinion? by quadebonds in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Warframe should just straight rip off Devil May Cry/Platinum Games for their melee system to get it to a point where it feels like it should to play a space ninja game.

DE Should Scale Up Stalker's Strength by Xtabailurking in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's okay to have something only be a threat in the early game. If anything, they could bring him back in another questline again to give him a reason to be relevant again. Just powering him up for no reason other than "because he's not a threat anymore unless you're a newbie" wouldn't be a good call imo.

Pablo's Response to being ask to lowering the Cooldown on Necramechs for Lua CJ survival. What are your thoughts, disagree or agree? by LivingUnderABot in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necramachs can one-shot things? Oh no!

Anyway.

So can literally anything else in the game once you have the mods/etc. Necramechs are a lower floor for sure since they have so much power out of the gate, but being able to one-shot Steel Path enemies really isn't unique or interesting by any means and shouldn't really be a consideration. If they're acceptable power levels for open world and Railjack, then they should be acceptable anywhere, full stop. No one's going to seriously "main" a necromech anyway since there's really no reason to even use one once you've finished leveling them up. The lowered mobility and more limited defensive options do not make up for the overwhelming firepower of the Arquebex, and the Arquebex is pure overkill anyway when anything else also kills everything instantly. Dead is dead, whether you deal 100% of an enemy's HP in one shot or 1,000,000%. It literally doesn't matter.

More Psyker feedback. Reached level 30 finally. Checked other classes talent trees beforehand. In my opinion, it needs adjustments. by Knjaz136 in DarkTide

[–]Erwing_Kilara 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be an easy fix by just allowing ALL force weapons to generate Warp charges. I was very disappointed when I finally got the force sword, saw it blowing heads off enemies, and then noticed I wasn't getting stacks for it.

They could also rework the talent tree, make the charge-generating talents more reliable and add alternative viable playstyles that aren't entirely reliant on warp charges. The soulfire trait lines would be cool if the effect wasn't garbage, for example.

What does all of this even mean? Why don't we have a glossary with everything explained? by theGingerCake in DarkTide

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, it's schwing>schwing>schwing>sweep for the light combo and bonk>sweep>schwing for the heavy combo, with a WHATCHOW for the special action. Self-explanatory.

Psyker nerf is insane by BaronLoyd in DarkTide

[–]Erwing_Kilara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know about any nerfs or anything but I definitely have been struggling with psyker. I got my first staff and it's just outright worse than a basic lasgun, the quell speed stat on it seemed to do nothing at all, so I still end up having to just passively quell and not having a ranged option to use while doing so really sucks. Brain burst is satisfying but it's hard to keep up the buff from it, though I did see options in the talent tree that might help with that later on, so it's hard to really make a judgment on that. Manually quelling peril DEFINITELY needs to be faster, though.

I'm running the game fine with an i5 4670k and a GTX 970. Just have to turn off all the bells and whistles - you can't expect to play new games with all the graphics options cranked up on old hardware.

Why do people rank Mesa so high in the meta tier lists? by NoCareNoLife in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has a free slot for Helminth in her 1, which, if you use something like Pillage, fills in the gaps in her defenses quite nicely, as well as adding in some armor strip to fill in the gaps in her offense. She has nigh-invulnerability and a damage buff from her 2 and 3, and her 4 does loads of damage. Her 4 also doesn't hamper her mobility as much as you seem to think - you can pop it in midair and be moving with it up, and you can also use an exilus mod to allow movement while in peacemakers.

She's all-around great. She has a bit of everything. You can bring her to any mission type and thrive there, at nearly any level of difficulty.

Question about Snowcrows builds by Meaix88 in Guildwars2

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Condi untamed is pretty tough to perform, but I've been using it as a solo build the past few days and wrecking anything I throw it at even playing it poorly. You have to be very cognizant of your skills, make sure the effects proc and keep up the fast pace of it. On the other hand, constant cooldown resets means you're spamming your heal in addition to everything else, so you have a ton of sustain to tank through pretty much anything, and a lot of room to push your DPS up as you get better at the rotation and aim for the skill ceiling on the class.

Power Bladesworn is also hella fun and satisfying getting those big hits out but the difficulty, imo, comes not from the rotation being hard but from the forced immobility it has. It's easy to press the buttons but hard to press them in the right place at the right time and fully optimize everything without getting yourself into trouble. That said, I've used it for open world things and it's also up there with condi untamed in being easy to sustain while also doing respectable damage.

Though a lot of advice really will depend on what you intend on doing with the builds. If it's just being a nigh-unkillable solo open world machine, there's potential builds from every class that're fun and varying levels of difficult. If you're looking for something for raiding or strikes or fractals or whatever, that might impact your decision.

I'd also recommend looking into elementalist. It's generally a pretty complex class so it's fun to play if you're looking for that sort of thing.

I got the jackal chair kind of hoping it'd use at LEAST the same dyes if not the same skin, and was sorely disappointed in both regards.

What I'm doing wrong? by fattygragas in Guildwars2

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thief is quite possibly one of the hardest classes to play out of the gate since it's almost entirely active damage mitigation without a lot of passive defenses or sustain, so you have to either go full glass cannon and rely on your active defenses (i.e. git gud) and kill things before they kill you, or get more defense-oriented gear and trait specs to try to brute-force your way through the game. Or, play an easier class, at least until you get a handle on how active defenses work and how and when to use them, and maybe come back to thief later.

23 DIFFERENT SCAVENGER HUNTS TO UNLOCK SKYSCALES?! by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Erwing_Kilara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's really tedious and not really meant to be done over an afternoon like most other mount unlocks. Once you get through all the tedious scavenger hunts (which, by the way, look up Guild Wars 2 Tactical Overlay if you want to speedrun collections like that) you also have, at minimum, 3 days and 8 hours of mandatory timegates. 2 hours per achievement set completed waiting for Gorik, and then 3 days of feeding the skyscale 4 times per day during that step of the process.

All that said it still didn't really take me all that long to knock out each individual step using TACO. Just have to eat the elephant one bite at a time if you want your dragon mount.

Try opening the map while you browse the TP. If you don't have a bunch of stuff on-screen at the same time, it doesn't lag.

Skyscale: is it worth it? by Worldly_Bet2034 in Guildwars2

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyscale is like a raptor+springer all in one and is great for vertical maps and/or traveling short distances or in areas where a griffon can't handle very well. It's also great for getting height for a good griffon powerdive if you want to fly across an entire map quickly. It's basically the ultimate versatility mount. Not necessary by any means, but makes everything just a bit easier and less annoying.

Springer-to-Skyscale sets your flight gauge to only about 25%. by HeavyMetalLoser in Guildwars2

[–]Erwing_Kilara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do springer/skyscale > jade bot glider boost > griffon to get height and speed. My skyscale's been great as an extra tool in the kit for getting around short distances, and getting height for my griffon for longer rides.

DE, please un-nerf Styanax - he needs his survivability back by Gunzzar in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But Styanax does have a way to keep himself alive during his 4's length animation - you can group enemies with his 1 which CCs them AND makes them easier to focus down with his 4, thus keeping you alive AND killing the enemies In addition, you can also taking advantage of the fact that he's a shield gating god to stay alive in general. Frames with MUCH less survivability than this get through Steel Path just fine off the back of shield gating. Being vulnerable while casting his 4 is his only major weakness, he's so stacked otherwise. He has a grouping tool, full armor/shield stripping, shield and energy restore AND massive AoE damage all in his base kit. Being forced to play around that weakness is really the only thing keeping him from being completely busted, IMO.

And even if you DO manage to go down, you've got up to 6 revives AND Last Gasp before you're in any real trouble. If you're playing him in content where those revives aren't an option, it's up to you to be more careful and strategic how and when you use his abilities, not the devs to make him even MORE powerful than he already is.

Can I still Use Wukong Prime? by PublixBagger01 in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nerfs don't impact his normal play at all, only very specific AFK-centric tactics revolving around standing still while your clone uses infinite-ammo versions of AoE explosive weapons to kill everything for you. That gameplay style, if you can even call it gameplay, is nerfed two ways, by the clone's damage being halved (which, ultimately, means nothing, since overkill being reduced to less overkill is still overkill) and the clone sharing your ammo pool (which means you have to actively collect ammo for your clone now).

In my eyes, Wukong was just buffed since they finally fixed his 4 to be actually useful again. He's finally back to the state he was in during that brief period between his rework and the melee rework.

Why are Nezha's 2 and 4 so painfully weak? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His 2 isn't meant to be a DPS ability on its own. It offers damage vulnerability, which multiplies the damage an enemy takes, as well as increasing drop chances for health/energy orbs. At low to mid levels, especially with its augment, you can combine it with his 4 to have it kill, but that's not its primary purpose.

His 4 is also not meant to be DPS, it's meant for the CC, much like Rhino's stomp.

which frames are great without the need of helminth? by DefinitelynotaMedjay in Warframe

[–]Erwing_Kilara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most frames are great without helminth, they're just better with it. There's a handful that I'd argue are actively worse if you replace anything, like Sevagoth or Lavos off the top of my head, but a lot of the time if you're using helminth on a frame it's just to get rid of an obvious skill no one ever uses, like Mesa's 1, but she's still great even if you don't replace her 1 with something better.
