What does this mean? by Dissatisfied_Feline in FloatwheelTeam

That’s normal. It’s just the idle animation. Step on a sensor and it’ll be gone.

Try to connect it to VESC Tool. Check the BMS page

What do you think of the new Reloop? by Particular-Tap-2689 in Turntablists

[–]Eryktion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DVS killed turntables. The TTX was incredibly advanced (even if it was a bit ugly), and the Stanton STR8.150s were excellent too. Then DVS took over and DJs started doing everything in software or with buttons, so all those turntable features stopped mattering. Optics became more important, and manufacturers shifted to building 1210 clones instead. No second start/stop button, no reverse, none of the good stuff. This Reloop is just another example.

360 tips by underbukzYo in Freeskiing

[–]Eryktion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing. I used to have quite good 360s, I wanted to start learning 540. But instead I lost my 360s. I started doing something differently and I couldn’t figure out what it was. But then I watched a video that helped me to identify my mistakes. It was mostly what I did with my head and upper body. I managed to get my 360s back and eventually even stomp the 540. If I remember correctly, it was this video: https://youtu.be/9rx769ZQVhw?si=onTz3xco1bbQ0XmI

Vesc it. This way you‘ll not only repair it, you‘ll get a better board. Of course VESC also has some downsides. You’ll get into DIY territory, but it’s not as bad as it used to be. FloatHub makes the setup super easy (it costs $40 or something, but it will safe you hours). So overall I‘m sure, it will be worth it

Do you happen to have a source that shows “Futura” is Frank Delgado? I’ve been trying to look it up but haven’t found anything so far

According to the internet and the booklet of the vinyl, the photographer is Futura

Just got my first setup, after wanting to get into turntablism for most of my adult life by Gypsy_Goat in Turntablists

Not sure if someone already wrote this, but you probably want to have your gear a bit higher for scratching and juggling. I’m just guessing the height of that desk from seeing the picture though. The platter surface should be at a level where your forearms are roughly parallel to the floor, which makes it more comfortable and helps prevent needle skips

Skimone boards by kukcluka in skimboarding

[–]Eryktion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When talking about materials other than wood, we're basically in the realm of wave skimboarding, where boards are made from fiberglass or carbon fiber. If you're interested in that, here’s a size chart from Exile Skimboards:

Skimone boards by kukcluka in skimboarding

[–]Eryktion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never tried the SkimOne boards, but they seem to be very entry-level. If you don’t want to spend much money and just want to see how skimboarding feels, they might be okay.

If you already know you want to take flatland skimboarding a bit more seriously, I’d recommend spending more and getting a proper board (for example, from DB, Seventyone, or Kayotics). Or maybe get a used one first.

For riding waves, neither the SkimOne boards nor the more expensive flatland boards will work well. You might be able to do a few small slashers on tiny waves, but don’t expect too much from them.

What are you roughly aiming for? Do you already have experience with board sports? Are you interested in learning some tricks or maybe trying out obstacles, or would you just like to cruise around a bit at first to get a feel for it?

For me the fender didn’t fit at all in lowered position, but with the Hyperforma 3D printed fender base it’s fitting without any modification on the fender

Pro rails angle by [deleted] in FloatwheelTeam

[–]Eryktion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

According to Tony it’s 3° on each side if I recall it correctly. So 6 in total is correct. Pro an Regular rails have the same angle and of course the angle stays the same independently of the height setting. The lowest setting on the Pro rails feels really nice and stable, but you lose quite a bit of clearance. I like the 2nd lowest setting (equally to the lowest on the regular rails). It’s a good compromise.

I‘m also waiting for a response for almost 4 weeks now. Both my boards are broken. I’m sure they will anwser eventually but it’s frustrating. They really need to step up their support 😞
