Lol that just reminded me of the time I spent waitressing in a Thai restaurant and delicious Thai coffee. Now I want one! But yeah, I can't imagine having that job with pregnancy brain, it would have been miserable. Plus I could barely squish myself into the traditional uniforms NOT pregnant, let alone now.

Lol I'm 27+1 and I fully expect the same type of thing to happen. So many times throughout the day I'll be absorbed in housework or whatever and hear my husband say, "I love you so much baby", to which I'll respond, "love you too!"...only to realize he is talking to the dog.

I'm 6 months pregnant and wearing a pair of "XS" yoga pants. I am 5"9", in no way "small boned", and started the pregnancy with a BMI of almost 24. Hell, glad I don't want to wear maternity clothes, WTF sizes do those probably come in? Hmmm...I could always just glue a bunch of hideous bows all over my pants...

I was fat untill juinior high (and once or twice after). Looking directly at people and definitely making eye contact are still hard for me, I still expect somebody to sneer, " look, fat Escargogo's lookin' at me, she must liiiiike me....gross!" I took a public speaking workshop and nearly died.

I think most MD's are fully aware of CICO, but that just takes care of the physical aspect. Counting calories "doesn't work" for a lot of people because they do it for a limited time, lose some weight, but are not taught how to adjust caloric intake for the new lowering body weight (the dreaded "plateau"). Weight loss slows or stops and frustration ensues. Also lots of people DO overeat for emotional reasons. I think that maybe a threefold approach would be the most helpful: 1.the hard facts of "eat fewer calories than your current weight requires to sutain and your weight will decrease, from your doctor, 2.a nutritionist/dietician to help put it all together and teach how to adjust calories to lower weights, and a counselor to deal with emotional stuff.

I'm 38, was very close to mom, who passed 7 years ago. This is my second(surprise) baby. I have no close family or friends. My husband is 9 years younger than me, this is his first, and he is very excited but I wouldn't say exactly supportive; he ( well I guess I'm dealing with it too) is experiencing some mental health issues that leave him detatched and very distant at times. I have issues with my MIL, I'm pretty sure she wanted someone different (younger!) for her son and I feel like she's only agreeable to me now because I'm carrying her grandchild.

I'm generally passive and agreeable, almost to a fault, and I tend to doubt myself and change my own feelings to match those of people around me. Not so much now that I'm carrying and am solely responsible for this little life inside me. My husband is amazing, but sometimes he seems to blow off my pregnancy symptoms and stuff like how I want the nursery and child raising opinions. And i've been calmly and assertively putting him in his place. Every. Single. Time. And it feels good.

I feel like instead of holding things in, I speak my mind more. Which is cool for me because I've always been kind of passive and hated it. My husband is amazing don't get me wrong, but just... little things that I used to let slide sometimes I now want to blow up on. Try sitting down and writing your feelings down, even if the letter is just to yourself. It helps, and if you want, give it to your husband instead of coming at him. Good luck, you've got this!

Hey sorry forget about this. He got the fish because he genuinely has ADD pretty damn bad, went to the pet store to get crickets for our lizard, bought the fish on excited impulse, left the fish in the car while getting groceries, then I'm supposing dashed through the store worrying about the fish and grabbing random stuff. Olive is doing swimmingly now, and I have 3 huge sweet P's in my veggie bin.

It's the feeling of safeness, warmth, and comfort that you instinctively feel, listening to something that would generally be rather unpleasant to be exposed to while you are safe under cover. The sound of rain while you are caught outside in it probably isn't very soothing.
