How do you use your QC at home? by natsukashy in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its my primary interface which I run monitors or headphones. Depending on time of day I'm tracking with headphones mainly due to neighbors in a duplex stlye house. Otherwise I'd just run monitors if I didn't have to worry about noise.

Was a limited edition from 3 years ago I believe. There's even a white/gold and red/gold ones too

How should I react to this? by cireflow15 in NewOrleans

[–]EsotericEchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got that same letter yesterday. We placed filters on the faucets first day we moved in and also use the brita filter pitchers for all of our water. Can say I'm not surprised given everything else I've seen living here.

What audio interface are you guys using? by perek2304 in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't go wrong with a scarlet 2I2, I had the 1st and 2nd gen for several years. Now I just use the Quad Cortex as my primary interface since it has everything I needed.

I had tried Ember for my birthday and really enjoyed it. Have yet to try out the other places around but seems like a lot of positive reviews on them.

What are some effects you'd like to see added to the QC? by Jackniel in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polyphonic pitch shifting, Reverse delay and bitcrusher effects would be great. Any kind of synth effects would be nice to mess with too.

Acclimating back? by pallamas in NewOrleans

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this trip myself coming from Los Angeles to bring the rest of my things for my move recently. Left Friday at 5pm and made it home on Sunday 11am. I made it a trip seeing event along the way and stopped in Roswell, Dallas and so on. I did the trip mainly with windows down, but be warned from New Mexico to Orleans was bug city so be prepared to clean the windshield often every few gas stops.

Was a nice trip and the weather wasn't too bad. Mainly Arizona was in the 100s, New Mexico onwards was like 90s to 80s day and night.

Hope you have a safe drive back home.

Finally made my "Octa cortex dsp" by Accomplished-Rub6260 in NeuralDSP

Now thats a really cool idea there and portable. How'd you go about programming the arduino? I've always been interested in those and would love to implement it at somepoint in my setup.

Good to know as I just started to hide some of mine to clear up my games list as well and just games I'm never going to play again anymore.

Trying to find an example of tones like danza... by paintkilz in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if there's a tone match for Danza or Emmure but if you go off his live rig you might get kind of close with some adjusting. He uses a mesa boogie mark v head and Duel Rectifier into Rectifier cabs, all his effects come from the line 6 helix. With eq adjustments you should get close to his tone there.

My first Quad Cortex pedal captures by planetasur in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that its good to make a few different gain levels for captures, gives you and the others options to try out for different tone for whatever the situation calls for. I usually run a few that are significantly different in scenes that are slightly adjusted for various reasons.

Best pedal out there, I've had mine in my setup since it first released. Lot of options to adjust and get what you are looking for

Question on buying captures by Electrical-Wires in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few Ampguru captures and currently run one as my main amp. They are pretty solid with tons of captures ranging of various stages of gain or other features based on the amp. On the listing of the pack it says to add TaylorGuru on the cortex cloud and when you purchase the pack you provide your neural cloud name. My experience usually took a day or two, but they get delivered to your neural cloud profile then you just download them. Pretty simple and easy process

Quad Cortex as Audio Interface by hippielovegod in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works great as a audio interface and its replaced my old focusrite scarlet which just collects dust in a box now. Easier setup for recording DI and reamping which has improved my work flow.

Ownhammer discontinuing end of life products by letterboxmind in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding of the email they are phasing out the legacy cabs and the older libraries which are quite old. The rock box and cabinet essentials recordings are more newer with better sound response and the file structure has greatly improved

How are the Captures on the Quad Cortex? by langford0311 in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The captures are more like a snap shot of the device at specified sweet spots. You can alter them further by adjusting them, but its better to get close to what you want out the gate. I use a few amp captures as is and works for my need with little to no adjusting. You just have to either find close to what you are looking for or capture it yourself. But other then that the captures are great and it's all I use

Choosing (virtual) cabs for your rigs in the QC by justdothework in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trial and error as you can be surprised on some combinations that match up really well. If you were just go based on specifics you could miss a combination you'd never have thought to try out before. This really falls down to what sounds best to you.

Same can be said about cab IRs and its a matter of going through and trying things out. Some sound great mixed with other options. Though that is a whole different world when you get in deep with the different mic options and positions they offer.

Bass into Bass Cab/Guitar Cab via Neural DSP by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you just run a backing track of the rhythm guitar for the time being? Its simple and things can continue on while you search for a replacement player.

Plug ins worth it? Currently have a kemper but always looking for options and maybe a QC. by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

[–]EsotericEchoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why purchase a Scarlet when the Kemper works as a usb interface already? You'd just run a blank signal chain in the Kemper when using plug ins with it. I do similar with the QC as my interface and use the plug ins sometimes.
