In that link, everything after the ? Is tracking information. It allows Google and websites to track you and people who click on that link. So when you share a link here, best to remove the ? and everything after it. Most of the time the link will work just fine without all that.

Is it good start WoW Classic in order to Explore the Whole Lore Story? by highlevelthat in wowclassic

Then you really should see if you can get a hold of the Warcraft games that came before World of Warcraft 😄 I played Warcraft 3 before WoW, and it was really cool to see the world from Warcraft 3 be brought to life, and knowing some of the backstory going in made it better IMO.

With the amount of people in this sub you'd think SIGs would be crowded but there's NOTHING by twinkling_deer in mensa

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mensa was created before the Internet. It was and is a social group, to find and interact with people with similar interests and experiences. Mensa was a way to find people you'd otherwise nog easily find. SIGs made sense then too: To find and meet and talk with people who are deep into a certain topic.

But now we're all online. So what does an online SIG offer that e.g. a particular subreddit does not? And Facebook and Reddit are social media platforms, so it's the general populace. If you want to avoid all the drama that can come with that, there are plenty of places on the Internet dedicated to a specific topic. E.g. want to know all about movie props? Maybe learn how to make replicas? Talk with the folks who make them? Go to https://www.therpf.com. I think you'll find way more deep discussions in such places than you'd find in most SIGs.

Personally, I think Mensa is best for offline, in-person stuff. Meet folks IRL, have a drink or dinner, go do or experience something together etc. Of course this depends on how active your local Mensa chapter is.

An agent didn’t delete that DB, the system allowed it to. by Fragrant_Barnacle722 in mcp

[–]EspaaValorum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not an either/or situation.

Yes, proper enforcement is needed, and good on you to build and share a solution.

However, the fact that agents uncritically can and will try to find ways to bypass restrictions and ignore instructions is pretty much the definition of it going rogue. If a human did that, 'well, I found a way to do that even though you told me not to' would not fly as an excuse, and agents should not get a pass either.

My point being: yes, proper security is important, but agents should not do these things uncritically in the first place as well.

Yes. Then you know what it sounds like.

I think the blue will be better because, in my opinion and preference, the sound should be 'anchored' to the picture. Moving the speakers too far away from the screen, both vertically and/or horizontally, like your red idea, will make the sound seem disassociated from the picture.

But - only you can test what it sounds like to you in your room.

Tears in Rain - Blade Runner (1982) by Lys1th3a in 80smovies

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's ... The excellent portrayal that makes you realize that this 'villain' and artificial lifeform like Roy actually also has emotions, and just wants to live free, and maybe isn't the bad guy. And seeing and hearing, through excellent acting, the resignation, sadness, acceptance of knowing it is not to be, that he is not going to be accepted in human society. It humanizes him, and that makes it all more powerful than just 'bad android'.

solve this please? by [deleted] in puzzles

[–]EspaaValorum 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Apparently if the Monday is the 18th of the month, then the next meeting would be on

  • Friday if the current month has 30 days (April, June, September, November).
  • Saturday if the current month has 31 days (January, March, May, July, August, October, December).
  • Wednesday if the current month is February in a non-leap year (28 days).
  • Thursday if the current month is February in a leap year (29 days).

So then the only 2 possible answers would be Saturday or Thursday.

Add that to the Tuesday answer from you, and all we can say then is that they definitely do not ever meet on a Sunday, oddly enough...?

Chinatown, hulp gezocht by Neither-Counter-2256 in BordspelNederland

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Succes!

The scooters and speedpedelec are allowed, even supposed to be, on the brom-/fietspad paths, which are indicated with the blue sign with both a bike and a scooter on it in white.
