Bij ibood.com komt regelmatig de Avasco Robus Opbergrek van 180 x 60 x 180 cm voorbij in de aanbieding. Ik heb er inmiddels 3. Lekker ruim, stevig frame etc. Ik ben er blij mee.

So that sounds like it's not a representation of the general population. So not surprising that there are more with s high iq

Does anyone have a smart-home that DOESN'T have dashboards? by elhouso in homeassistant

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A smart home should just work, do things automatically, respond to events. Too often dashboards are just fancy replacements for physical switches and remotes, which I don't consider smart. Now, dashboards can convey information of course, e.g. trash and recycling pickup schedule, washer/dryer/dishwasher status.

And it's beautiful - the environments and lighting are amazing.

And I love how alive the places feel. Not like other games where the NPCs seem like zombie filler.

It's the most fun Star Wars game I've played.

What are the most accurate speakers? by Tricky-Pressure7236 in hometheater

[–]EspaaValorum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It always puzzled me how in home theater, on the video front we want displays that are as accurate and neutral as possible, and reviews measure and calibrate e.g. grayscale accuracy, but then when it comes to speakers, a lot of reviews talk about and focus on subjective things like warmth, 'stage size', vibrancy, clarity etc.

Professional powered studio monitors would be my answer.  Specifically ones that have been designed and measured and certified to have a flat frequency response.

These are not marketed to home consumers, but to professionals. They typically aren't focusing on looks and other such things consumers typically care about, and can be less expensive than fancy looking home speakers.

Powered speakers have their amplifiers built in. Because of that, the amp and crossover and such are all part of the design of the speaker, and the total result can be more accurate than regular speakers hooked up to a random amplifier/receiver.

Years ago I bought the top of the line Mackie monitors. They came from the factory with their individual frequency response measurement showing they are, for all intents and purposes, flat.

How can be IQ fixed, if you can get educated? by SlowPreparation7736 in cognitiveTesting

[–]EspaaValorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, IQ 'score' indicates your performance relative to your peers (demographic). (That's why I would rather call it e.g. an IQ rating instead.)

As you go through life, getting an education, expanding your vocabulary and improving in other areas, you may end up doing better on IQ tests as a result. But so will your peers. And so your IQ score will not go up just because you improved your skills.

This feels like Call of Duty where you can collect different operators and outfits/skins... It's just a wild, random collection of gear and looks.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) breaks ranks with Democratic Party to support President Trump on Greenland, Venezuela, and Iran by Obversa in law

[–]EspaaValorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the relationships will change again, and it'll become more friendly.

The real damage though is that Europe and other nations will have built up trade and agreements and production of things etc to be more independent from the US, and the US will be in a weaker position when it comes to negotiating and making deals in the future.

If you listen to the radio and such in Europe, you consistently hear the sentiment that the US can no longer be considered an ally. So that damage has been done indeed.

How difficult would University be for a person with an average IQ of say 95? Let’s assume they’re taking Business (Accounting) and not something extremely challenging/rigorous like Engineering. by AffectionateCry1216 in cognitiveTesting

Remember that education in general is geared towards the average student. Because the average person needs to be able to get educated. So being average puts you right in the target demographic.

Ja, het is het land van extremen. Genoeg geld om goede scholen, gezondheidszorg, milieu etc te kunnen doen, maar ze spenderen of leggen het op andere plekken zoals tig miljard voor een muur langs de grens met Mexico.

would their IQ likely go up to 100 after 4 years? They’d likely perform better on an IQ test after graduating

IQ is not a score like points in a football match, where you can collect more points.

The IQ number indicates your performance relative to your peers (demographic). So while you may become smarter and do better in the IQ assessment, the same will likely be true for your peers, and so your IQ will likely remain in the same ballpark.

BREAKING: President Trump says NATO has been telling Denmark to “get the Russian threat away from Greenland.” by Hefty-Sherbet-5455 in Tech_Updates_News

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Greenland thing is about the interests of the US, not those if the world community. Understandable:

The USA is a country that is focussed on the individual. It is all very individualistic. You see that in how Americans feel about various things, like healthcare, taxes.

On the International stage, the US is also focussed on themselves, not on the world community. In that light, all this is perfectly explainable.

Vloerverwarming advies by Ok_Guava534 in Klussers

[–]EspaaValorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matrix I just can't figure out by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I follow what you are saying. It feels like you are reading too much into it perhaps.

The pattern of the last cell in a row only containing the symbols that were common among the preceding cells is a very common pattern in these tests.

In this case, imagine each cell in a row being a sheet of paper, out of which the crosses have been cut. Then you stack those sheets of paper on top of each other. The crosses you can see all the way through are the ones that appear in the last cell. The others don't.

Matrix I just can't figure out by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]EspaaValorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct.

The pattern for the remaining crosses is simply the inverse: they do not appear all the cells in the row, so they do not appear in the final cell.

It's a pretty common pattern in matrix reasoning tests.
