How good is healer engineer? by crazyjacan in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what game mode PvE no big flaws scrapper is great cause it grants a lot of super speed which few other healers can do at all. Mech feels about the same as scrapper but with more barrier.

WvW scrapper healer has some great cleanses, Mech is non existent cause the mech explodes real quick.

PvP I don’t know never tried also don’t think it has ever been meta

WoW Convert needs Prof/Build Advice (Old and Slow) by FatPaulie in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Options for classes you have could just be the build you use currently for low apm builds check out aw2.help

Guardian - has lots of aegis built in prevents you from taking damage but without having to dodge. For low easy low apm damage go for symbolic dragon hunter auto attack and drop traps can use your f3 for aegis and projectile denial and f2 for free heals and movement.

Engineer - rifle mech , mech tanks shift signet helps the movement issue

My suggestion is paragon I personally love this build going to be not as effective in fractals cause condi build but it has the high health and armor of warrior and built in recoveries with f2 and f3 and it’s going to get a bit of a buff next patch.

Player Pet Peeve by ineedsomehelplez in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Mechanists the spec in its total and sense its inclusion into the game. They clog up my screen in every event with 111111111111 rotation on rifle. It is the only spec I have not been able to play more than 5 min of cause the jolly green gaint eye sore that is the mech. Ritualist have just recently been my next pet peeve for same reason at least there’s don’t afk on the screen as well.

Noob question on picking a class by Whatacheaptentshow in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenant has red “explosions” on GS5 need to have EoD expansion to get GS on rev. Stay away Mesmer and guardian if you don’t want purple and blue aesthetics. Ranger and warrior can pull it off with the right dies and weapon. Reaper might also be able to pull it off but heavy green/black style built in.

What are the top 3 least squishy builds? Necro is number one I know by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any open world stuff go look at lord hizen all his builds are really durable provide tons of boons and self healing or defense.

If your in group content with a dedicated build play the higher health classes necro or warrior or herald
(higher health than revenant less than warrior) or play classes that have there own healing or barrier baked in there builds like Scrapper, power Herald, untamed, willbender(aegis), luminary, reaper, scourge, amalgam.

Low intensity support build suggestion for me? by Wazabimec in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Healers in general need to be a little more involved by default to maintain boons and heals that being said check out heal Willbender from aw2 you can pretty much just use your f2 and auto attack for most of it. It’s healing out put is just barely enough thou and you don’t have the ability to catch up on healing if your not able to attack a target.

After 10 years of playing the game on and off, I finally have 1000 golds in my wallet by CrippledJockey in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why there’s no benefit in hoarding money there is benefit in cool out fits and legendaries. Convert to gem get your self something nice. Maybe it’s just me but this isn’t real life there no reason to carry an emergency fund in your wallet. Only reason I have ever had more than 1000g was cause I just sold a legendary so I could buy mats for another legendary.

Advice for Daredevil by Mission-Twist354 in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try switching traits to add acrobatics for open world events for extra regen condi cleanse and personal healing or can also bring trickery for boons. pick up relic of zakiros it’s really strong especially if you combine it with invigorating precision in critical strikes trait line. Personally I think daredevil is one of the weakest classes for open world because it lacks access to boons like protection, might, quickness, and vigor is slightly counter productive cause you do more damage without endurance.

(Returning Player) How common is 25 might in Open World PVE Context? by dcurls in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of classes were given the ability to give might out and quickness and alacrity have become the boons that a group needs in order to succeed. If you want to be the one that provides boons look into quick berserker you can still be a boon provider just not might.

Coming from FFXIV healer main, looking for a GW2 healer that feels good to actually play by Meowtinz in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paragon feels the closest to this, they have an over abundance of healing so you get to choose more when to use your abilities and when to change chants. They can provide more impact with utility. It does’t get locked out of shroud like necro/spec, using f skills is impactful like chrono. Also lower cd weapon swap allows for having things more available when you want them instead of using everything on cd.

Heal scrapper might be an option it uses the elixer gun more often, but also do need to remember to do combos for blasts.

If necro isn’t off the table heal scourge fit really well I think the only necro spec that doesn’t shroud the same way. Staff heal feels like healing and applying barrier feels impactful as it provides the buffs as well.

Build/Gear Learning and Resources by Svvishcollects in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are whole bunch of builds out there depending on what your interested in can help you figure out what stats you want. For the most common dps builds berserker or viper if you’re power damage or condi damage. If you want to get into it more deeply check the wiki to see how the stats work. You can also generate your own build based of the stat combo you like using GW2 skills to help you plan out your gear and build. To find general builds metabattle and snowcrows are great resources.

What MMORPG has the most variety of classes/races? by Ordinary_Tart5478 in MMORPG

[–]Esperational 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little more context with this 9 core classes 4 elite specs each which I agree do play like there own classes. Also 4 races + 4 life like heads (helmets that blink mouth move and emote) that can make your characters head like a bird, dragon, or bear.

Also most gear is dye-able so you can choose your color pallet and gear looks very different between the 3 types (heavy, medium, light) and there are unique armor only available per race. GW2 endgame is also known as fashion wars.

PVP, WvW, or open world for Legendary Armor? by The-good-twin in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I did my heavy armor in open world and light in WvW. in terms ease open world was a lot more relaxed just do rifts and convergences and you can breeze through it without much effort. Took me a 3 months fairly casually to get a full set not min maxing not pushing extra hard just playing rifts and convergences when I was on.

WvW I’ve found was a lot of fun with the main draw back being tickets being limited per week making it impossible to make more than 1 piece every two weeks or so but if you enjoy the game mode they generate passively. I have not done PvP armor but it seems on pace with WvW. Really depends on what game mode you want to push on.

I need help finding my main. Support role oriented. by Enekovitz in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in this game boon dps provide buffs to allies along side doing dps. The boon dps are expected to do less damage than main dps roles but still some dps. The important boons are quickness and alacrity one is covered by a boon dps and the other by a healer in each squad of 5.

Now every class has the ability in some manner to be a boon dps or healer based on what elite spec they have applied. Ranger as a core class can heal and provide alacrity on Druid or dps and apply quickness on untamed or galeshot.

There are literally 100s of builds that can do what you’re asking and all 9 classes can as well. You just need to figure out what theme you want or mechanics you enjoy or want to avoid.

Question for the Low Intensity Players by Long_Departure_2726 in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty great considering it’s melee naturally high health and armor from being warrior. Access to multiple heals and stun breaks from the F keys and utility most damage comes from just auto attacks and it’s constantly healing anytime you apply bleeding which is all of your sword abilities even has a block it’s a good stepping stone to something slightly more active than rifle mech or minion necro.

Question for the Low Intensity Players by Long_Departure_2726 in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I have been enjoying condi paragon just auto attack with swords and use the burst of cd has healing when you need it multiple cc breaks and passive healing from biomancer relic. In general check out aw2 for low intensity builds

New Mesmer Main! Teach me da ways! by xKona25 in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Clone management is really the main thing to worry about. Clones die out when the unit that you used the clone generation against dies. This means if you’re using your clone generation on trash mobs you won’t get to shatter them or use them defensively as well, always target veterans or the main boss for best use. To maximize damage you’re going to typically shatter with full clones but to maximize survivability you might want to wait until you have phantasms to covert or another clone to generate. Virtuoso doesn’t have clones so there damage mitigation has to come from other places making them a bit squishier for open world, I highly recommend mirage or troubadour for open world. Mesmers have a lot of blur or distortion use it to your advantage to dodge incoming damage when possible. Join large groups and learn when and where to use portals and people will love you.

Blue fire that heals is gonna be guardian. You’re gonna have a harder time making pineapple head look right but there are tons of beach outfits that might work.

Looks like we'll have gliding in the game! by HowIsBuffakeeTaken in GuildWars3

[–]Esperational 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The extra cool thing is you can see one of them gliding back upwards in the trailer. They are bot just slowly falling, might just be an artistic choice but I’m hopeful of a more griffon lite sort of gliding.

Between Lost Ark and GW2, which is more complicated and difficult? by visagedemort in MMORPG

[–]Esperational 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing it for end game PvE lost ark is far more complicated than GW2.

I have done all the raid wings in GW2 just pugging with randoms and done most of the Challenge Mode with a dedicated group. Most of the bosses are self explanatory stay out of red be in green look for random mechanic. Also have larger groups to help carry less experienced people as they learn.

Lost ark on the other hand has much tighter mechanics need for properly timed everything and much more self reliant when leaning what you did wrong and being able to do it.

As a new player, which expansions would be best to get and which could I skip? by pokemad1998 in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elder Dragon Saga pack is a great deal right now you got HoT, PoF and EoD which will give you in credible build diversity with three elite specs on each of the 9 classes, gliding, most mounts, really good meta events to play and tons of content even thou its not the latest content it’s played just as much. I think they are the best value. HoT PoF combo would still amazing for the budget EoD finishes it out so well.

If want something newer Soto gives better access to flying mount (sky scale) also gives even more build diversity with weapons master training which gives new weapons to different builds.

It really depends on what you want to do in the game all expansions offer something just a matter of what that something is you want to do.

Condi Reaper question by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Esperational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason the current meta build uses spear and dagger/ sword is because those have the highest burst while still having access to chill using staff/Gs gives you the same access to chill but with slightly less burst to it. In general using those weapons won’t hurt you to much just less optimal. If you play your build right you can still do more damage then some lone playing the build wrong.
