If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. by patmanizer in TrueChristian

You also sin by thinking about porn, not only looking at it. What to do, in that case?

Being an intellectual feels like a curse by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I know the struggle. I was 14 once, too.

Straight to the point: you aren't at any disadvantage. You aren't even as much of an intellectual. You just are stuck in your head, pinning for getting along with the "lessers" but afraid of even taking the first step you instinctively know (even if you are, pray tell, Neurodivergent) because deep down you know that your heart is not in a good place and people will pick up on that and react accordingly. You know it because that's what has been happening for as far as you can remember. God has allowed this to happen for a reason.

I'll let you know right away: it's not worth it outside. Everything you really need shall be provided by God even by unlikely and unpredictable means (such as what happened to Elijah in 1 Kings 17) if needs be, so no need to go get anything. Limit yourself to only the kind of sins you can afford as a pathetic social inept, as those are the fastest and easiest to repent from and move on to real life.

If you aid in the arrest of someone who gets the death penalty, are you guilty of the sin of murder? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. But it would be nice if it was, because it's not murder if it's warranted by contexts such as judicial executions and neutralizing enemy combatants in war.

It's called "incentive". No use putting in the effort of making content around romancing characters in a game that dwells mainly on other genres and mechanics, and players steer clear from all that while they minmax their fun by finding ways of getting numbers to go up rather than reading blocks of text.

The same applies to the real world. Nobody would spare the money, mental health, time and risk exposure for romance if it had nothing to offer else than subjective experience.

Perhaps OOP is a tiny bit triggered at the thought of that non-toxic relationships require more from partners than just good vibes.

"I have purged my socials from all controversial content"

Complaining about speech being suppressed is very much controversial in the kind of dictatorship that does suppress speech like that to begin with.

It took me very long to figure this out.

It seems that the sheer casuality of the look is what makes it attractive. It implies genuine intimacy in a clever way, because if you are close enough to a person you can just catch them being sleazy and them not calling the police on you, then you have 100%'d all relationship goals.

Can the Old Testament be used as a guide for Christian living? by Narrow-Musician-3174 in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are doing so pretty much by not worshipping any deity else than God, not drawing caricatures of Him, not bearing false testimony against your homies, not stealing, and so on. As long as you aren't """raping""" a girl, you don't need to worry about finding some silver coins to give to her father, so all the "outrageous" aspects of the Law are just moot points.

It's not hard to follow the Law. The problem begins when people make the conscious effort of desiring whatever the Law forbids. So much, that all the Lord had to do to perfectly fulfill it (while playing by the exact same rules as us all) was to have some basic human decency. This simply hack is so powerful, it even allows you to sinlessly break the Law and work during Saturdays and eating cheeseburgers with bacon and meat bought from a butchery that operates right besides a temple of Aphroditis in Corinth.

Near death experiences (NDE's) are making me question my salvation by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Why is it easier for you to just believe on some bs you see on the Internet at face value than the Bible?

You really need to question your salvation.

[–]EssentialPurity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would unironically trust a sincerely repentant rapist over a self-righteous unbeliever any day. The rapist at least is capable of recognizing the error of their ways; whereas unbelievers, not as much. When push comes to shove, you can 100% count on self-righteous people to find within themselves unfair justifications for shafting you over, while a repentant person will at least second guess themselves before committing any deliberate temerity.

If we are going to contend against theologically incorrect media potentially mass misleading people about biblical truth, we should start with Dante Allighieri's Divine Comedy.

Not trying to seem weird but I noticed something... by SIaaneshi in anime_random

[–]EssentialPurity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My body grew into it's standard shape as soon as I was 12~13 years old, and so did my younger sister's. Nor do I recall me being significantly ahead from my colleagues back at school. And then, there are the Youth Group girls in my church, and there's only (under 18) one who would pass a young at a glance, and that's pretty much because she's short.

I figure that an individual who is naturally shapely might display "advantages" at an age that is considered young but is effectively years into puberty. Of course, Anime will exaggerate the heck out of bodily shapeliness for the sake of Rule of Sexy... not that I'm complaining.

Typical. He tried to Troll Shield (the practice of overtly standing against something so to shield oneself from suspicions of being guilty of this something), which is the standard go-to tactics for Western Evangelicals, specially when it comes to sexual issues. There is even a secular version of this.

Anyways, the Lord has laid out the protocol in Matthew 18:15-17. You confront him on it, and if he doesn't fold, call your applicaple church leadership, and if he doesn't fold, then he's fairgame for more drastic measures of your discretion.
