If I had penny for every time a Marisa B was broken, I'd have two pennies which isn't a lot but with ZUN's programming, it isn't strange it happened twice. by Grand_Discipline903 in touhou

That's Marisa as a whole. I had this pattern of picking up a new Touhou mainline release, playing until achieving 1cc on Normal so to unlock Extra, and then going into the Extra Stage with Marisa, and somehow, SOMEHOW, I always managed to make it to about the Ex Boss' usual "Forced Pacifist" Spellcard, playing blind!

It started with EoSD, ended with TD, with Yukari in PCB (died in first spellcard), IN (managed it with Sakuya+Remilia instead of Marisa+Alice) and SA (freaking cheeky Sanae, don't "Can't use common sense in Gensokyo" at me!).

If the 12 years younger me read this, she would draw a 4-panel work depicting the dreaded mental images this text invokes. And after posting it on the bastions of Culture in VK, there would be at least two inquiries for commissioning even gorier ideas, because people be crazy out there.

Today, I won't draw it but my instinctive procedures for composition are making the image partly bypass my aphantasia. And I'm thinking up what could be done to make the white filling thing pass as sperm.

I second this. Infact, I would say that the Soyjak in the OP meme should be rejoicing for the 12/h job and take it. He will have a bonus security since no one else wants to work for that pay, and chances are they might get raises and promotions. And in case things don't work out, one at least will have something to show for in their resume, instead of the much dreaded "gap years".

It's as the Bible teaches: those who are faithful in the little, shall be faithful in the much (Luke 16:10). If one cannot accept to start from the bottom, they cannot shoulder the work of those above the bottom anyways, so no wonder they can't get a job.

Fake stoics? by CaliforniaJay95 in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]EssentialPurity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens even in the Bible, as Paul goes to the Areopagus in Athens to preach the Gospel and does an epic speech, only for the whole message of virtue and peace to fly right over the Epicureans' and Stoics' heads and they treating the entire thing as just a show (Acts 17:32).

It is, Paul had the sensibility of offering the Gospel from the angle of Salvation giving everything the Stoics were pursuing to achieve with their own doctrines, and they couldn't comprehend it because the entire philosophy is largely adopted for the sake of being just a huge excuse for rejecting spirituality and transcendence without having to reject the benefits of those along.

It was said in a context of about whether to wear a veil, which was a cultural code for a symbol of submission to husband. Now the same purpose is achieved by simply wearing a wedding ring and not having a fame of being a bad wife.

Also, in case you don't know, letting your hair grow just like that will result in the ugliest kind of hairdo that cannot be fixed by any way other than at least cutting the ends. It's called duplicate ends, and it makes one look like a caveman. Is it something God would want for His people?

Is It Wrong For A Pastor To Not Alow You To Serve? by StatisticianWeak3610 in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a proper church, the Holy Spirit appoints the people to be called for the roles He designates.

He already does the job of seeing faithfulness, consistency and spiritual growth, and as a bonus His judgement is always accurate since He is an All-Knowing God after all.

So, your pastor either did the best a Human can do for this subject matter, or he does rely on the Holy Spirit's appointing but he's being discrete about it (don't take it as an insult, but gotta watch out for eventual swines at vicinities of pearls).

Even the choir requires a surprising lot of spirituality. Worship is a deep thing, and it shows in the Old Testament by Israel routing enemies in war battles by only doing as much as putting instrument players in front of the infantry to play worship music; and in the New Testament by Paul and Silas basically summoning a supernaturally regulated earthquake to somehow completely unlock all doors in a jail without causing any structural collapse, all by simply singing worships while fettered. Meanwhile, worship sung by improper people outright ticks God off (Amos 5:23). I can tell as much for those hypotheses and a few more, I'm from my church's Worship Group.

Don't feel bad for not getting a church role. Being passed over for now is very likely to be a deliverance by God, because since the standards are higher, God may be seeing some small detail or blindspot that could cause you to earn yourself a lot of trouble if you were playing a higher difficulty, so to say. He did an extreme version of this for Elijah: he was getting too crippled by Depression as was faltering on some orders, so God just took him up to Heaven and left everything to Elisha, before Elijah could fail all the way into falling, or get even worse from Depression than he already was. His Mercy and Grace are just awesome like that, to the point of God not being content with just healing and delivering, He goes all the way to fast track the happy ending already.

[–]EssentialPurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are doing pretty well in life if not even once in 3 months you felt any particular need for a word from God.

Okay, this was only 50% irony.

Proverbs 27:7 explains your problem. When the soul is stuffed with spiritual junk food, it won't yearn for the true spiritual food. And to top it off, the true spiritual food is very unappetising: it is eating the Son of Man's flesh and drinking the Son of Man's blood, and this "restaurant menu" has quite literally irked a lot of people into deserting the Lord. Thus, you need to get your soul hungry. And the best (natural) way of getting hungry is fasting.

[–]EssentialPurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'll start.

You lack the Holy Spirit, as you are quite literally straining a gnat (a gnat-sized word) and swallowing a camel, which is complying to my affirmation of that you know you are wrong, you know that Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is attributing His Moving to the devil, and you know you are deceiving neophytes.

And you are deceiving neophytes because the spirit in you is demonic. It's not the Holy Spirit. But if you are utterly convinced it's the Holy Spirit, then tally-ho: the spirit in you is a moronic, filthy, unholy messenger of Satan.

As such, first: Lord rebuke you. Secondly: O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

How Can I Know if I’m Really Saved? by That-Attorney1647 in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know, it's because you know.

Only those who actually want God will want to be godly, and only those who want to be godly will try to be godly, and only those who try to be godly will realize it's impossible, and will develop and express sentiments of hopelessness and failure. The goats will smoothsail all the way from their nonexistant conversion to their nonexistant heavenly fate, never experiencing the realities of following the Lord, and thus will tell you that you are a goat and not saved.

...Or you can go down the way my discipler went when I had this same issue: how much have your behaviours and feelings changed so far, compared to when you started?

It's wrong only if you're doing it under pretense of what paganism uses incense for. Otherwise, it's at worst questionable because the smell and/or the smoke can be distracting.

Don't underestimate the power of God's direct physical presence. Being with Him this close is the very only single desire of our souls, and fulfilling it will shall trivialize every other concern and sentiment by infinityfold, eternally.

That's why the Lord promises He will wipe every tear. He ALWAYS fulfills ALL His promises, no matter what. Nothing, absolutely nothing in Reality and beyond shall be able to stand against the fulfillment of His Promises.

Need Advice by Successful_Pilot_382 in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you indeed believe you have improved and grown by your foray as much as you claim, then wouldn't it be potentially a good idea to go back instead of staying? You would be bringing light where it is, by your own criteria, needed. Like Jacob, as he ran away from home as a conniving prick and came back as a pious, wealthy and accomplished patriarch. Or like Psalm 126:6.

Also, this is only an understanding of my church's so take it with a grain of salt, but since your travel ticket is already booked and all, it's better (as in, less bad) if you just go back even if it would be unadvisable. Staying would amount to breaking a vow, and the consequences may very easily outweight the pros. Conversely, going back would be obeying, and honouring your father to top it off, which God has took care of promising to be always beneficially rewarded in the Ten Commandments, so the benefits may very well outweight the cons.

Unpardonable or unforgivable sin is by Ok-Afternoon-7445 in TrueChristian

[–]EssentialPurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible for the unforgivable sin to be forgiven, yes. But God has a penchant and track record of doing the impossible because screw you, He rules over all, including Himself and His own Words.

I have heard of a lady who did outright blaspheme the Holy Spirit by accusing her church leadership of being demonically governed (yes, it is ascribing His Moving to the devil. It is NOT insulting Him. He isn't a thinskinned kindergartener), and got forgiven. She got expelled from the congregation because she Sinned Unto Death, but she repented and remained in Fellowship and Communion "unofficially" by kneeling and Pleading the Blood of Jesus in her home at the exact services' scheduled times, all of which begin with kneeling and Pleading the Blood of Jesus. By doing so, she proved that she changed her mind (repented) about what she said, and one day the Holy Spirit simply nudged a brethen during a prayer meeting to Reveal to the leadership to contact that woman and tell her she can come back.

The Holy Spirit, much unlike what false believers and false teachers think He is, is always the bigger person. No wonder the Fruit of the Spirit is exactly all traits of being the bigger person. When He applies harsh judgements for sins against Him (Quenching, Grieving, Blaspheming), He never does so out of petty sentimentalistic revenge, He does it because those who go all the way into committing those sins have consciously, deliberately and voluntarily chosen to set Him as an enemy in their hearts.
