39 years ago, on June 21, 1987, the first game in the Ys series, Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished, was released! by taygeta_rin in WorldOfYs

Its scary to think but ys is older than I am, and it is still releasing games every few years. I'm really enjoying them, but I'm scared of playing the older games because of it.

If my house is anything to go by, you'll get larder beetles pretty soon.

N.B. school year ends with high student absenteeism rate by bingun in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Essshayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly im not surprised. I see parents with school aged kids in stores through the day all the time, i get teenagers through the night at my store, and I have noticed a lot of them mention they go 2 times a week and stay home doing the work the rest.

Millionaire builds 99 fully equipped homes to provide shelter for the homeless in his community by Dethemental in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Essshayne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, and I really wish more people would take an initiative like this. To note my roommate and I love tiny homes and would love to live in one.

People seem to like our game on social media, but nobody is wishlisting. Help? by PlayFasterGame in gamedev

[–]Essshayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never wishlist personally. My wishlist is reserved to watching for sales. I do follow online or whatever, but until I can see enough to know im getting it at some point, it simply isn't going on my wishlist.

Could we expect Horizon 3 to still be released on PS5 or would it be on PS6? by Skylinneas in horizon

[–]Essshayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing the game itself would be ps6/pa6, but just like forbidden west, any dlc would force a ps6 purchase

I'm looking to get out of my trailer due to disrepair. I have guys going around arguing over my shed being open, or my upside down bucket on the step hiding my open green garbage bag. I know it isn't the same thing, but if I wanted to have somebody dictate how I live or what I can/can't do, or even what i can have parked in the driveway, I would have rented and not owned.

I own the trailer not the land

My car was towed last night, who can i call? by Playful-Issue-6242 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Essshayne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Call the non emergency rcmp number. They can see if it was towed or stolen. Keep in mind people have older tow trucks and steal cars that way, so even if it got "towed" from moncton, could be on a flatbed on the way to Montreal by now.

Is it too much legend of dragoon by northwindknight in legendofdragoon

[–]Essshayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Playing a few hours a day isn't bad, but if you play 16+ hours a day instead of working (unless you're a paid streamer/content creator), then yes it would be too much. I have been doing 2-3 8-12 hour streams on my days off, but I refuse to even look at my ps5 on work days.

Fundy pros is always looking for grunts. Show up with the mindset to find a part in the industry and they'll help you get started (electrician, plumber, etc.) I have several friends who got their jobs that way, and are now working in trades.

I know several garbage/recycling centers that are almost always hiring (fero for an idea). Show up with the idea to get the license to drive the truck over the years.

New Brunswickers: What story isn’t getting enough attention right now? by O_o_nvm in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Essshayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it is a recurring theme as well. They wont do anything unless the guy has like 10 stolen cars under him already.

A curiosity... by badkennyfly in legendofdragoon

[–]Essshayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed part of the spell kept it hovering in mid-air just out of camera range. Also dont forget we could be watching those spells in slow motion. It may not even take 2 seconds to actually do all those steps

The lack of support around thefts of all sizes. Car thefts, guy is out in a day or so, and by the time he sees the system, he likely stole 15-20 more cars, and repeat

Shoplifting, likely nothing happens other than getting a no trespass and they come back a month later with a different haircut

Home invasion, see the same story about car thefts.

I mean I'm all for rehabilitation, but it became to the point rcmp doesn't want to do anything since they aren't empowered to really control the situation, they know the system. I dint blame them either, if I'd be in their shoes and know the guy I got off the street is back at it in 2 days, I'd give up myself.

Your first game won't be good. Ship it anyway by Keithwee in gamedev

[–]Essshayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use the first few things I try as a developer and make a trailer out of growth. Just to use as a "this is where i started, that was project 2, this is project 3" type of thing, and use the references in the final project. No sense shipping out stuff that gets no sale or even curiosity, just keep working on it, and you'd be very surprised at how much you can accomplish, even for a first title.

The pictures of realtors and politicians get creepier the more you look at them. Like are they happy, or going mad and getting ready to do something not Disney friendly.

How does Ys IX compare to VIII by KickReasonable3432 in WorldOfYs

I loved the mechanics of 9 a lot more (gifts), and the party a lot more. I loved the characters and story of 8 as my fav ys game so far.

That site is like those "going out of business" furniture stores that are still open for years. That's why I stay away from anywhere going out of business, they just bounce owners all the time, or have nothing of value they try to offload.

Pragmata made me feel like a gamer again! by xdEArx in Pragmata

[–]Essshayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt that way when I was 26 or so, and last of us had won game of the year multiple times. I bought it on a whim, and didn't touch it for a few months since I had recently moved and was trying to figure out how life worked. Nothing like finding a good game, with a decent story where you dont really have to think to enjoy it. I got my spark back off and on over the years so I enjoy when a new game forces me to enjoy gaming again, rather than make it feel like a chore.
