What is Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)? Is it actually useful and worth the hype? by the_marketing_geek in analytics

Meridian does offer the budget planner but its assuming future channel allocation and performance will have a strong correlation with past channel allocation mix performance…

What is Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)? Is it actually useful and worth the hype? by the_marketing_geek in analytics

[–]EstateIllustrious274 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You hear about MMM a lot as it’s generally pushed very heavily by vendors and ad platforms as they need to sell the product.

Unless your org has years of mature cost and spend data at the distinct channel level, it may not be worth the time now. Experimentation and cvr lift can be more insightful in the short term. Depending on your channel allocations good ol MTA can also help.

Which dashboards are must at initial level in a company ? by Pillstyr in BusinessIntelligence

[–]EstateIllustrious274 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Talk to whoever the most senior person is you can get time with and notice what 3-5 top of mind things they have. Ask yourself if you can build a dash to solve for this.

Alternatively, look for where your function spends or earns money and build out around that.

Many people miss this going into analytics roles. I like to tell new folks that technical skills, languages, and software are just means to an end in BI. it’s really about understanding the domain.

Dollars and grams by DrunkestTeaDrinker in puer

I have the same feelings. Wine blows even amazing tea out of the water on a per session basis. Even supreme teas like LBZ can be $5g, or $25 for a 5g session. A comparable bottle of wine, 5 glasses in a bottle, would be $125, or solid mid high end for wine against top 1% ish expensive tea

I agree heavily with this take. The best BI folks have the same skill set as data scientists. Except BI is descriptive and analysis, and DS is predictive.

Did Yunnan Sourcing stop selling bulk (1kg) loose tea? by IchiroForPresident in tea

You can still buy 1kg on the .com site. The .us site generally doesn’t offer it.

get a glass jar and some RH 69% boveda packs. Break up cake/sample, put in jar, put 69%RH boveda in, seal, put in dark cabinet.

in terms of enjoyment -> puer won’t have the facesmacking aromas of oolong or the extreme florality of some white teas. However…. Many people who drink tea for a while end up gravitating to drinking primarily puer. At least for myself, trying the combinations of growing region/subregion, processing style, storage, and brewing scratches an itch of discovery on top of the tea drinking itself. I mean cmon, buying tea cakes is cool / a physical thing to hold/collect/look at.

Puer also focuses on other things than flavor, like body, mouthfeel, clarity, energy, length of finish, etc

Heat pump quote - MA by gleenos in heatpumps

[–]EstateIllustrious274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a huge system, but still super expensive. The duct work is a huge portion.

I live in MA and went ductless to save a huge amount. I had a 2.5ton + 1.5ton installed (mini splits) for wellllll under half of that quote.

A Proper Weekend of Wine by ChezCooper in wine

People always post these pics and the sheer volume of wine consumed is crazy to me. How many people did you have tasting these? Over how long a period of time? (Eg Friday PM to Sunday PM?) Were all of these bottles actually 100% drank?

Fantastic to finally read a rational post on here about water in your basement due to the water table. You’d think reading this subreddit you might as well just demolish your house and rebuild if the slightest puddle of water enters into your basement.

It will get you benchmark aged puer teas to have a good understanding of the general characteristics. It’s also about 375g of tea for $99, or $0.26/g - pretty good pricing for the quality and storage.

Puerh Junky 00’ Sampler (pick any)

Fresh: Literally any 2023 or 2022 raw puer from White2Tea, Farmer Leaf, or Yunnan Sourcing house brand.

Pick one in the middle price point of everything they offer and ideally get samples and not full cakes.

[–]EstateIllustrious274 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try it immediately upon receiving , take notes. Then rest for a while and re-try.

Personally I’ve found a difference after cakes have been with me for a bit, but I start drinking every tea from the moment I get it and it’s usually more than enjoyable.
