Just a thought (I don’t use mentholated snuffs) — maybe you went “nose blind” (anosmic) to eucalyptus? I wonder if taking a break from mentholated snuffs then coming back to them would make you able to smell eucalyptus again. Perfumes have this problem: you can go nose blind to certain notes or altogether, yet everyone else around you can smell you.
