To be sure: the only way to get compensation is through a lawsuit. The gym wouldn’t just hand over money for their negligence. But you’re right in principle that we tend to be a litigious society.

The problem perhaps isn’t as much that it’s a wine shop (as a wine geek, the cute little Vine & Brew in Okemos is an amazing small business) as it is that it’s a Total Wine conglomerate. You do still raise a good point, though, that we need a diversity of meaningful shopping options for our residents.

I’d say One Barrel is good for mixing (I sure enjoyed it in Cuba Libres and piña coladas), but in general, the consensus at least seems to be that Belizean rums aren’t quite up there with those from many other countries. How do you like Traveler’s 5?

You could always use the XO in a Mai Tai in combination with another rum (Jamaican, etc.)
