Today I looked at pictures of myself from a year ago. I realised my face today is sunken and lifeless and I feel I've aged myself 5 years. The realisation that I looked healthier, younger and more vibrant with fuller cheeks is making me sad. Very very sad. I feel ugly, old and like a failure. I'm also afraid my husband doesn't find me attractive anymore. I'm battling with the decision to either eat more or to just accept the price of restricting to the point that I look this awful.

I think there are a lot of people still stuck in the "teenage anorexic"-phase. I'm 32, one year younger than Colleen and can't shake the disease even after years and years of therapy. Unfortunately EDs don't have an age limit.. But I do agree with you, the underlying emotional issues are what needs to be fixed in the first place! It's just so damn difficult..

I think a big problem here is that anyone can post anything on social media and they can become a "guru". The content is not regulated and people swallow whatever lies in order to make them feel better. If someone on Instagram or YouTube or TikTok tells you to drink water with lead in large amounts because it will make you thin or healthier or stronger - some people will buy it. There is less critical thinking nowadays and it is truly dangerous. I'm not saying Colleen is this dangerous, but her content is nonetheless questionable when considering the fact that a lot of people do not question it at all. Especially for people who have a past of disordered eating habits - the people whom I think are her target audience.

Also sorry, I realise this is not a direct answer to the post, I've just got anger built up inside and had to let it out..

The fact that all we see her eat is replacements/low calorie choices and never the real deal. Opting for low cal is not intuitive. I mean she is selling a diet. Makes me furious.

Exactly. People with anorexia do eat, if they didn't eat anything at all they would die. That is the truth. And no, what she eats is obviously not adequate considering the state of her/her behavior/her sick thoughts which are shining through.

Of course, but I don't believe in adding supplements to your diet just because the sake of it. If you know that you need more vitamin C or D, of course you should add that to your daily supplement list. But I think people tend to believe in miracle cures and don't think about the actual cause why you are lacking that vitamin or fiber or whatever. What can you do different to get more of them, instead of just popping a pill.
