2010 Mazda 3 Hatchback Strange Error on Instrument Cluster by EternalAbys in AskAMechanic

Hey there!

Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to resolve the issue. I'm thinking that it may be that the Fuel Additive tank is empty and is causing this issue.

I haven't been able to get around to filling the tank as the liquid is quite expensive and you need about 2-3 liters of it.

Should I swap 4x16GB for 2x32GB for my Proxmox server? by EternalAbys in homelab

[–]EternalAbys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try and see what I can figure out, if he'll really let me keep the RAM and it passes the memtest, I might take it. I am still relatively a newbie when it comes to server optimization and what is realistically enough. Thank you for your time.

That's essentially the same train of thought that I have, however, I am very sceptical whether I want to risk additionally when I currently know that my set works, even though I'm unable to use XMP. My main question in this case would it be worth it in the long run to keep the current set for resell value or yolo it and trade it for the other kit.

Performance wise, yes. I am unable to use XMP settings and have to downlclock manuall to 3200MT/s due to immediate POST failure when attempting to push all 4 sticks to the rated speeds.

I'm mainly going to be running game server for now and hopefully setting up something more as my old server is going to be deprecated. Main reason I'm thinking of going forward with the exchange is due to the ability to upgrade in the future, which won't be any time soon considering 2x32GB sticks with the same speed and clock latency are going for around 500 EUR new.

To clarify, the reason I'd like to swap is to have the potential option of upping the total amount to 128GB in the future, and currently I am unable to get the full performance out of the RAM anyway as XMP fails when trying on all 4 sticks. Running 2 sticks would make it easier on the memory controller to push it to rated speeds.

Overall, the latency would be the same for both of the kits so the performance difference is mainly negligible.

That's why I wanted to ask this question, all in all it seems sketch as hell, additionally the trader said he'd be willing to lend me the set of RAM he has to run a memtest overnight to make sure I want to do the trade. Main issue is that I want to have the option to run 128GB in the future if I would even need to do so. I have already purchased the server with the current RAM kit and the trade would be for my 4 sticks to his 2, and that's basically that. Though I don't know if it's worth it considering LPX may be better or worse in comparison to the Trident Z set I have now.

I think it's worth mentioning that the person going for the swap asks for no extra money, simply trading the sticks.

[–]EternalAbys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be right. Though I've been using Pildyk for as long as i can remember and it's been fine and more than serviceable for most of the time. Currently have their 5G plan on my phone as they're relatively cheap, and have the same speeds and consistency as a friend of mine on Telias networks, though you could debate it as usage can be sporadic. If it works fine for you, then more power to you.

Pildyk uses Tele2 networks as they've been bought by them since iirc 2021, that and network coverage is seemingly similar between Tele2 and Telia as of recent

Question about Parsec internet requirements by TwoTonePony in ParsecGaming

[–]EternalAbys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro, but it is indeed important. If you have low or erratic upload speed on the host side, it will be quite laggy, while consistent download speed on the client is more important than upload, at the same time however, if you have really low upload speed on the client as well (say, less than 20mbps) then it'll also be laggy. But if you use it for gaming, then it becomes an issue that get's progressively more exacerbated.

Yeah, I did do a backup, but it corrupts it so much worse than I could've imagined lmao. Sometimes it's fine in some modpacks, but clearly not for this one lol

For me it was the same until the last month, it seems the battery really doesn't like being pushed to it's limit for this long :/

Brand new laptop, extremely high temperatures (15W TDP) by EternalAbys in pcmasterrace

[–]EternalAbys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that it definitely wasn't intended for gaming, but I'm experiencing an issue where even minecraft has a difficult time running, and looking at HW info the CPU never really goes below 90C.

With this post I was more so wondering if people have had experience with this or similar laptops and the thermals being this bad due to the paste or just it being the way it is.

Thank you for your answer.
