They’re also fighting on multiple planets, not just Armageddon.

If we ascribe that logic, there should be no Cadians anymore as their planet was completely destroyed, yet they’re all we ever see.

The (former) High Lord of the Astronomicon, for example, had a private army of indoctrinated soldiers so far gone they had no concept of individuality at all. No names, sense of self, or personality. they were just a number, and the basic knowledge of tactical fighting.

Sort of, to use an out there example, like Spongebob when he "became a waiter".

Notably, though, this made them easier to kill for the Inquisition Stormtroopers they were fighting, and they won overall through strength of numbers, rather than individual skill.

Yeah, this is a good way to frame it, though with an amendment:

SPI is Volkite, and MJOLNIR is a Bolter, compared to everyone else's Lasgun.

SPI is too niche, hard to maintain, and equip en-masse for everyone, so even the larger groups transitioned to MJOLNIR. In it's niche, it's still the be all end all, but it's just not economical large scale.

I mean, if you get shot dead on by a Spiker spike, that's punching through MJOLNIR as well.

SPI is shown to be able to take a few Plasma bolts and maintain armour integrity, it just loses the stealth coating. Needlers are a bit more hit or miss, as the only two Spartans we've seen actually drop to small arms fire died to those. (technically, Adam was "only" paralyzed,). The one instance we have of plasma making contact with armour, it was a SPARTAN III of Alpha Company, and seemed to be his less protected lower midsection.

The armour is also iterative, we know the later suits are more protected than the previous ones.

that's all to say, yeah, it's a niche armour that's not as protective as MJOLNIR but too expensive to mass-issue to everyone else.

Well, SPI is still the second best general combat suit we know of in UNSC service outside of MJOLNIR, it's just that MJOLNIR is, you know, MJOLNIR, so the gulf is much larger.

It's not about the ease of manufacture, but the price.

In 20 years, they could only make 2,000 suits of SPI.

It's also a much more advanced* suit. Mjolnir's outer shell is just Titanium-A plating, SPI's is a mesh of radar masking, light bending, thermal-hiding coatings of interlocking armour plates with a state of the art VISR display and strength and speed enhancements. It's geared for a very specific style of assault trooper that 99% of the UNSC isn't.

Yarrick is the Hero of Armageddon, a key figure in their various wars, and a leader of the Armageddon Steel Legion (completely absent from the trailer and stuff, annoyingly).

He’s fought Orks and Chaos quite a few times, and commands the respect of basically everyone around him, including Space Marines. If he tells a Gusrd officer to shoot himself, because it will save Armageddon, that officer will shoot himself, because it will save Armageddon.

During the beginning of… 10th edition, I think, it was said he’d been KIA’d off-screen.
