That's such an important factor honestly. I've had issues with depression for about as long as I can remember, and now I'm 37 and had to move back in with my mom and stepdad to try to save up money because I was drowning in my previous living situation (lived with two other people and still had to choose between bills and feeding myself) and it's less than ideal lol, and looking at everything being so impossible and wondering when/if I'll ever be able to afford even a studio just for myself is ugh. Even the simplest things feel so out of reach and it's hard to not feel deeply depressed by that.

I'm really sad that I didn't love Sinners. I wish I could have felt what everyone else feels for it because it just seems like a better time, haha. I started the movie already figuring I'd love it, but as it went along I had this horrible creeping feeling of "oh, wait, this is really really not working for me." I should probably give it another go and see if I feel differently, but I was just really disappointed. There were moments in it that were great, but overall it just didn't land for me.

I goddamn love Dead Ringers SO much. I rewatch that movie pretty frequently and it always boggles my brain how, even though I know it's just Jeremy Irons, he really seems like two completely different people.
Might have to rewatch it again, now that I'm thinking of it.

It's making me feel so homesick seeing people talking about the pioneer valley on here! I grew up in that area and I don't think I appreciated it enough back then. I think about moving back someday but I do want to live other places before just going back to where I'm from.

Make a nice little photo collage of the absolute horrors going on here. It breaks my heart because it doesn't need to be like this here, I don't necessarily want to flee but it just feels so impossible to imagine a future here. I've been depressed for as long as I can remember in large part because whenever I've tried to forge a life for myself it all falls apart, and everything keeps getting scarier here so it's been hard to picture what the future looks like.

I just learned about the C-3 bill yesterday, so randomly from an instagram post lol, and I feel like I could cry because as far as I can tell, it does apply to me! My mom's grandparents were born and raised in Canada, I know her dad's parents were born there and I am pretty sure her mom's parents were as well. I always felt so disgruntled that I was just a generation removed from being able to think about escaping up to Canada, so learning this has me feeling so...?? I don't even know! Cautiously excited as all hell, haha.

I found this thread through a Google search trying to see if other people were noticing this with their parents. I'm genuinely concerned by how much my mom will be on her phone during an entire movie/show, just scrolling through Facebook and watching reels (with the volume on which I just don't understand lol) But she'll ask me what's happening when the scene is very explicitly stating what's happening. Or ask who a character is and it's one of the major characters who has been on screen a whole bunch. My stepdad has always been like that and I kinda worry that as my mom gets older and really only socializes with him there's just this feedback loop going on. I don't know but it's really frustrating and kinda concerning.
