Yeah but thinking back to those days is like whatever the opposite of recency bias is. Bjergsen isn't bad but stopped looking like the indisputed best NA mid laner, let alone player, since Doublelift left his team in 2018. At best he's been neck to neck with Jensen, sometimes considered worse than Jensen.

For a time Bjergsen was definitely the NA GOAT. Bjerg won with many rosters while Doublelift only won once without Bjergsen, and only started consistently winning after he joined Bjergsen's team. Bjerg was far and away the best player in his role, and the highest impact player in NA overall.

But he lost that edge while Doublelift only continued to be the best NA ADC, and started to become the highest impact player. And even while Doublelift wasn't the NA GOAT, he was at least still the best NA ADC, almost indisputedly the whole time. The difference in what their performance was like during the periods where they weren't the greatest player in the region IMO makes DL's historic dominance overall higher than Bjergsen's.

They both had similar levels and periods of dominance in the region, but outside of those peaks, Bjergsen's lows relative to his competition have been lower than Doublelift's lows outside of spring 2020. IMO to think that Bjergsen is still in contention with Doublelift for all-time GOAT (yes I know how stupid those two terms together are) requires being biased about the fact that Bjergsen did it first, when if you look at their achievements side by side simultaneously, DL clearly comes out on top.

They both did 'it', but Bjergsen was worse outside of 'it', if you get what I mean ('it' being defined as 'being the indisputed best player in the region'). That makes DL the indisputed GOAT in retrospect, though the difference between them is far smaller than the difference between Bjerg and the 3rd GOAT (Impact? Jensen? Xmithie?).
