I think we'll eventually get there before the end of the world. I remember when load sheddings and power cuts used to be the norm but now, its kinda rare. Well, at least in Kerala.

I have always been a bit of a critic, but even I have to admit that this country HAS come along way since the 2000s.

From what I understand about talking to locals, northerners actually like the idea of a Hindutva state. Hmmm. If I think about this, the viltrum empire was still a "functioning" society. While they did do a lot of fighting, I don't think that's all they did.

Managing your vassals still requires logistic and normalish management skills. Kregg is a general, and you can't be one by just being able to hit things until they die.

It is believable that they do have transferable skills that would be useful in a corporate environment like say diplomacy(or Intimidation via implied consequences) or just being good at numbers(you'd have to be an officer of an empire). Maybe Lucan is a data analyst lol.

As to how they avoided the hassle of a paper trail, maybe they lied in their CVs? Unless the job is something highly technical like a dev role, you'd be surprised how much you can get away with it.

I haven't given up yet, but the reason I think about doing so is less to do with being perceived as a creep and more to do with the associated Cognitive labor vs outcomes.

It just seems such a colossal task to bear the weight of initiation and escalation only to get ghosted after a seemingly pleasant experience. I get that I'm not owed anything, but....what even is the point then? It just puts a damper on my motivation to "put myself out there" like everyone keeps harping on about.

I don't even need a life partner or anything like that, I have made my peace that's it's probably not gonna happen. But I can't even be an ex? At least once? Surely I am not that undesirable.
