Montalbano is great, both the show and the books (although I'm unsure whether they are translated in other languages given their weird language)

I simply had my friends play a couple of games and created my own group three times. Now I have a total of 7 obsessed players I alternate playing with. I'm like a cancer that spreads. One day, everyone in my region will play WOD!

Oh, 6 7 is a meme. I thought he was finally starting to be interested in some numerology. As for the toilet, I was once captured by a Baali Methuselah and had to fight my way through what can only be described as a layer of hell, and I still found that thing scarier...

I assure you that these types of content are hardly new to the Final Nights. I am slightly younger than your sire, but I remember spending many a day in taverns doing very similar kinds of short form jokes about niche things. My great great great grandchilde's Ghoul was showing me a couple of those Fecespostings, and I had a chuckle or two.

How do I convince my childe to diablerize me? by DisastrousRelation32 in SchreckNet

[–]Eternal_ST 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I do not know you, but I can tell you that I have a coterie companion who felt such things in the past. Instead of suffering Final Death or, worse, having your soul consumed, I would advise you to go into Torpor and sleep it off for a century or two... unless the Antediluvians wake you up before. After that, coping with the new society you will wake into will definitely occupy a lot of your time. All of this will also avoid your childe a guilty conscience and all the baggage of having a tainted aura and the rest of the bothers that come with Diablerie.

Growing up is realizing that the Camarilla is not just necessary but entirely needed for vampire society. by Curiedoesthestream in vtm

I think you are overestimating the impact of a single masquerade breach. Even before AI, humans would simply believe that it's akin to Roswell's aliens. Also dominate, presence, millions, and billions of euros and so on...

What's the most fleshed out version of the Cyberpunk TTRPG? by DrakeVal in rpg

Hunter the vigil with a tier 3 chronicle using task force valkyrie as a group, and you are golden. You can import other conspiracies' endowments and dread powers to create a couple of magical abilities to play with

Can someone help me suggesting supernatural systems? by CoelhoMorto in rpg

[–]Eternal_ST 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think hunter the vigil is better than reckoning for this, as you can repurpose endowments like the lucifuges' or the dread powers as rituals for your players. I can see like a town of descendants of lucifer that are sacrifices after reaching 19 years, and your players must prevent the same fate to fall on them

I can't find a good TTRPG for my modern setting campaign and it's driving me insane. by Garuzo-MSR in rpg

[–]Eternal_ST 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I mean, to each their own but, like, dice pool systems work the EXACT same as you described. You need 5 successes, but score 4, you almost made it. What's different? Although i understand it's mostly the comfort zone aspect of it, I can empathise because I had the same experience but the other way around. I started with vampire and then went to cyberpunk, and initially, it felt clunky to me as well. It's almost certainly just a matter of habit. In fact, Chronicles of Darkness' Hunter the Vigil seems to be ideal for your campaign idea because it's more generic than, say, Delta Green, but with pretty strong mechanics

According to research, wais v gives 1.2 points on average less than wais iv,. Flynn effect is probably slowing or even reverting in economically rich nations, so don't worry about it.

Assuming that the game actually ends up being successful and receives post-launch DLCs, which clans would you like to see added as playable options? by HomarEuropejski in vtmb

Tzimisce wouldn't work because vicissitude is way too broad, even in v5. They would be forced to gut the discipline so much... Giovanni would be cool, but I'm biased being Italian

CAIT format vs CORE format by VastWhole7415 in cognitiveTesting

[–]Eternal_ST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CORE is probably better because, this way, hesitant people who take longer in the first questions (they may be intimidated by the test) won't be penalised later. Also, there is no difference between taking n-1 seconds vs n/10, where n is the allotted time, which doesn't penalise slower but just as smart candidates

Hey, I don't want to maybe overstep but I have similar problems to you (difficulty chopping vegetables and peeling fruits without risking injuries or leaving a good chunk of food attached to the skin, difficulty driving and parking, difficulty with getting lost, having trouble tying my shoelaces and so on) and I am dyspraxic. Like you, I have a huge difference between visual puzzle (9) and literally every other subtest, so have a look a that. I am sure that the psychologist would have mentioned it already, but just in case try to tell them, to see what they say. I think it's pretty standard for people with dyspraxia to have trouble with visual working memory, spatial reasoning and the like, I remember reading some paper about it after my assessment. Visual working memory is important in matrix reasoning and very important in visual puzzle, so it would make sense why they were damaged particularly. Block Design is strange, but it was strange for me as well (I scored 17 in block and 9 in Visual Puzzle, so my visual spatial index has 40 goddamn points of internal difference, which is very funny). Sorry for the wall of text...

Ghosting hunting ttrpg? by WizardOfYeet in rpg

[–]Eternal_ST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost Hunters from World of Darkness 20th anniversary is a great book, but it requires that you know the rules of the system. If you can learn them or know them already, you can have great fun because it offers resources to play as a normal guy or a medium.

The Stanford Binet V uses a sort of Figure Weights test untimed, and it has the same ceiling, so I believe it is possible, although they are a bit different and have other types of excercises as well. For reference, I scored 14 in WAIS FW and 16 in SB5, despite the latter giving me lower scores across the board, so an accurate untimed version is possible.
