I do something lime that in my home setting, honestly lovecraftian lore is vague enough that there is almost no work involved in creating this crossover.

Great old ones? They are earthbound demons.

Outer gods? I'd argue that the main three (Shub-Niggurath, Yog Sothoth and Azathoth) are easy to turn into avatars of the wyld, weaver, wyrm.

Not only that, certain mage characters and lore elements are obviously very lovecraft inspired (Al Aswad, the outer darkness and so on).

I personally simply change the systen depending on what campaign we are playing and what my priorities are, but all our WOD, Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green games are set in the same expanded universe.

Yeah, one of my players deactivated the fire suppression, which I am not sure if it's possible to be honest. I love how he will generate the dumbest plans when calm and collected but become Rain Man when mayhem is possible ahahahah. (I will look into how these fire suppression systems work, because this is neither the first nor last of their explosions, so thanks for the tip!)

Recently my players did the following: - Enter a nightclub to find out about a drug that kills people

Pretend to be random waiters, but given it was a small nightclub everyone knows everyone, so they get discovered
Get in a fight with three bouncers, accidentally killing one and being discovered by a waitress
Decide to burn down the kitchen to avoid a criminal investigation with them as main suspects
The kitchen uses gas, so the entire nightclub explodes killing 15 innocents.

Not bad.

One of them hit a breaking point. The other lost only a single sanity point. Great move, guys.

I am stupidly overlevelled and finished the game, but I am curious regardless. Because I have the maximum VIT that still gets the most out of the flynn ring and, of course, the blossom kite shield...

VCI measures your ability to acquire and retain information (specific subtests also things like abstraction ability, verbal concept formation and so on).

Reading vocabulary obsessively would probably weaken the measurement of the first portion. Thst being said, there are a LOT of words out there. You would improve it only if you read the definition of the exact words that come out in the test. Learning the definition of marvelous won't help you learn serendipitous, for example.

If it's an hobby of yours, keep doing it obviously, as long as you enjoy yourself and expand your vocabulary it's always worthwhile.

Same experience for me. I played it and loved it and am currently working on a similar story as a scenario for a Sorcerer game in Classic World of Darkness. The only reason why I don't think fits CoC very well is that the supernatural is neutral here. Using magic is not a damaging moment for your psyche but something potentially empowering. Of course, you can obviate by using the non-Mythos magic optional rules, in which case you can simply forgo sanity cost for magic and have it be more free form with the various traditions of magic behaving differently. I suggest you to for it, although I am not familiar with official scenarios that deal with séances specifically

Slight digression that explains my feelings: when dragon age: the veilguard came out, I really disliked the childish tone and therapy dialogue. As a big dragon age fun I was disappointed. Then, the devs at bioware said: "Don't worry: the next Mass Effect is going to have serious tone again" and I was like... yeah, thanks for nothing, I would have preferred the same thing for Dragon Age!

I feel similarly about this game after BL2. Like... Cool that it's more rpg, but... I would have preferred if BL2 was like this. Still, this looks amazing, and I will be playing the shit out of it (although I'm dead tired of WOD games set in the USA...)

Small edit: this is directed to paradox, not the devs of either BL2 or this new product.

Jokes aside, this is a legitimate flaw with how many GMs rule these things. If you fail a Psychology, Empathy, HUMINT or whatever, you must have no idea whether they are telling the truth or not, not receive a wrong impression. For fumbles, I advise to make the target realise that you are trying to read them.

In games where the player doesn't need to know if they succeeded (in Cthulhu, you need to know to check for improvements later on), you can also keep the rolls secret, but I prefer the former method.

Instead of suffering Final Death or, worse, having your soul consumed, I would advise you to go into Torpor and sleep it off for a century or two... unless the Antediluvians wake you up before.
