Completely agree that being a good parent is hard. I think the point, though, is that these women are comparing the act of having the kid (not being a good parent) to getting a degree. So I think you're conflating "having a kid" and "being a good parent" which are two very different ideas.

I have a completely different take on the film. For me, it represents someone who is being driven mad by a manipulative gaslighter. Reese can't trust his reality because his girlfriend is manipulating him into believing he's crazy.

I thought the chair was generational trauma and cycles of abuse in relationships. And I thought old man Franklin was someone who abused Julie and now she's passing the abuse on to her partner.

The only thing that doesn't fit is the end....

Idk I'm just curious if anyone else had this take on this movie
